Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo (SMaP) Contest Round 103

(Edited)

Walking in a local park, we stopped to feed the birds. It's been quite cold and frosty and the birds were hungry. This jackdaw arrived first to the table.

The jackdaw is a member of the crow family. It is black with a nice, silver sheen on its head and pale, piercing eyes. They are quite clever, sociable birds.

The jackdaw took flight to go and eat its food in privacy.

Apparently, it is tradition for our royal family to keep at least six ravens in the Tower of London, believing they protect the Crown and the Tower. There is a superstition that if there's no ravens, the Crown will fall. All baloney of course! Source Even though ravens guard the tower, there are also plenty of jackdaws that are even noisier.

The last photo is my entry to the Feathered Friend's Contest, Show Me A Photo (SMaP) Round 103 with a free theme. Thanks to @nelinoeva and @melinda010100.

Wonderful entry! The jackdaws are indeed very noisy 🙂
They are but clever. Once I saw on the news a jackdaw becoming rather tame and spending most of the time with an old man in a village.
