Going for a Walk and Coming Back with a Book

avatar

We went back to one of our favourite haunts at the Longshaw Estate, but doing a different walk. There's a lot of ground to explore.

There was a few muddy points along the trail as per usual.

It was a funny sort of day, weather wise. It was cold and overcast, but really nice when the sun came out.

We walked through the grounds of the estate and along the side of Burbage Brook. Making sure not to fall in!

It was good to get off the muddy trail and onto the safety of the flagstones.

At the end of the walk, as well as having a nice cafe, there's also a lovely second hand bookshop on the estate. You can go for a walk and come back with a book. What a great idea!

I love these photos you take - I always think of something very old and pagan (not in a bad way!) in these types of photographs. Always cool!

Thank you! I have a pagan friend and she's very nice so I've definitely taken it as a complement. 🙂

Hi @ellenripley, I really like that idea of a second-hand book shop. Years ago, I collected some BBC recipe books from charity shops. I particularly liked them because they were pocket size with creative simple instructions and photos.
I think stopping by that shop could become a habit:)
Have a nice day!

I can't cook, so pocket sized books and simple recipes would be great for me!

Thank you. No, I only browsed this time. I want to get Christmas out of the way first. If I get my head into a book I forget everything else! 🙂
