Parklife: A Sleepy Heron, Ducks and a Squirrel!
(Edited)
Walking around the local park, we spotted the heron that has taken up residence on the lake. Obviously, it's enjoying the food it's finding here.
I think it's had a busy day, as later on it was having a little snooze.
Usually, if you go down to your local park, you are sure to spot a grey squirrel going from tree to tree or foraging for food.
If they are regular visitors, they aren't as scared of people walking about. This one stopped to eat it's lunch.
I love the colours of the mandarin ducks. They were introduced in the UK from China. Some of the ducks escaped captivity and are now living and breeding in the wild.
I can't forget the cute, white duck.
I always find them to be quite amusing, little characters.

Yes! I love the heron photos...we get them over here too...my favorite water bird to photograph!
We've seen a few more this past year. Not sure why. I like them as well, especially when they're flying.
those bird shots are beautiful 😍 I wish there were birds as big as those in our place so I can practice birding but sadly most birds here are only 3 to 4 inches big and using my bridge camera I can only mostly get mediocre shots although I got some good shots as well but only a few. Hopefully if I can compile just enough photos worth of sharing I would :)
If you don't mind me asking what camera do you use?
Hi I borrowed an Olympus and 300mm telephoto.
Herons are good to photograph. A few have stayed around for a bit as well. They usually move on after a while.
