Poema: Conquistando un amor| [ESP-ENG]
Conquistando un amor
En el pueblo donde vivo
Don José vive con su mujer
con una hija de buen ver
más hermosa de lo que describo.
Me invitaron a una cena
por la confianza que tenían en mí
sin embargo, sentí pena
por su hija Beatriz.
La linda doncella
me miraba coqueta
y tartamudeando me habló
a su hija miró
y ella alegremente lloró.
Todos alzamos nuestras copas
en un brindis celebramos
ese amor que empezamos
hoy me subo a la popa.
Llegué a mi puerto seguro
con el amor de mi vida
con la certeza de un futuro
con la luna de miel en Florida.

Conquering a love
In the village where I live
Don José lives with his wife
with a good-looking daughter
more beautiful than I describe.
They invited me to a dinner party
because of the confidence they had in me
however, I felt sorry
for their daughter Beatriz.
The pretty maiden
looked at me flirtatiously
as beautiful as a star
that looked at this poet.
The dinner was the occasion
of the summer night
to make the great decision
to finally ask for her hand.
Don José choked with his drink
when he heard my request
that he would give me his daughter as his wife
that it would be a great blessing.
Nervously he smiled
and stammering he spoke to me
to his daughter he looked
and she joyfully wept.
We all raised our glasses
in a toast we celebrated
that love we started
today I'm getting on the stern.
I reached my safe harbor
with the love of my life
with the certainty of a future
with the honeymoon in Florida.
