Today I allow myself to share with you a personalized drawing, and it is the face of a Viking. Drawing that has been made using a 2B and 8B graphite pencil.

Inspired by this character, we are going to narrate a bit of his history, and the Vikings were a group of warriors and explorers originating from Scandinavia, in northern Europe, who lived between the 8th and 11th centuries. They were known for their skill in navigation and their forays into other lands. Some important aspects about the Vikings are:

Activities: The Vikings engaged in fishing, farming, and trading, but they were also famous for their raids and pillaging in Europe. They explored and colonized areas like Iceland, Greenland, and North America, long before Christopher Columbus.

Society: Viking society was hierarchical and practiced paganism, although they converted to Christianity in the 11th century. They were known for their bravery in battle and their loyalty to their leaders.

Technology: The Vikings developed ships called longships, which were fast and versatile at sea. They also had knowledge of navigation and were oriented using the sun and the stars.

Legacy: The Vikings left a lasting mark on history. Its culture and traditions, as well as its influence on navigation and trade, have been the subject of study and fascination to this day.

For this drawing, we began with the 2B graphite pencil, managing to create the face and its parts showing a face of few friends and a look of fury, then his eyebrows, nose, hair, beard, helmet, horns and some lines of expressions are created. . Once this part has been created, we continue with the skin. With 2B, a very smooth layer of graphite was created as if caressing the paper, and then with the help of a small soft-bristled brush, I expanded the graphite and thus created a smooth and even surface, revealing the different tones for the lights and shades.

For the darker shadows and to give depth to the portrait we will use the same 2B pencil, but applying a little more pressure on the paper.

Keep in mind that a firm but light hand must be used to carefully blend and blend the drawing for an even and realistic finish.

For the hair and beard we take the 2B pencil and create a first layer with very soft lines following the hair loss and beard, to then blend with the brush. We return with a second layer, but with a little more pressure, applying to the darker areas of the hair and then blending with the brush.

To finish, we go over the details of his helmet and horns with the 8B pencil, creating a first and second layer, and with an eraser I have to draw lights, in the same way some parts of his face in order to give a touch of realism to the drawing.

El día de hoy me permito compartir con ustedes un dibujo personalizado, y se trata del rostro de un Vikingo. Dibujo que ha sido realizada utilizando un lápiz de grafito 2B y 8B.

Inspirado en este personaje vamos a narrar un poco de su historia, y los vikingos fueron un grupo de guerreros y exploradores originarios de Escandinavia, en el norte de Europa, que vivieron entre los siglos VIII y XI. Eran conocidos por su habilidad en la navegación y sus incursiones en otras tierras. Algunos aspectos importantes sobre los vikingos son:

Actividades: Los vikingos se dedicaban a la pesca, la agricultura y el comercio, pero también eran famosos por sus incursiones y saqueos en Europa. Exploraron y colonizaron áreas como Islandia, Groenlandia y América del Norte, mucho antes que Cristóbal Colón.

Sociedad: La sociedad vikinga era jerarquizada y practicaba el paganismo, aunque se convirtieron al cristianismo en el siglo XI. Eran conocidos por su valentía en la batalla y su lealtad a sus líderes.

Tecnología: Los vikingos desarrollaron barcos llamados drakkars, que eran rápidos y versátiles en el mar. También tenían conocimientos de navegación y se orientaban utilizando el sol y las estrellas.

Legado: Los vikingos dejaron una huella duradera en la historia. Su cultura y tradiciones, así como su influencia en la navegación y el comercio, han sido objeto de estudio y fascinación hasta el día de hoy.

Para este dibujo se comenzó con el lápiz de grafito 2B logrando crear el rostro y sus partes mostrando una cara de pocos amigos y una mirada de furia, luego se crea sus cejas, nariz, cabello, barba, casco, cuernos y algunas lineas de expresiones. Ya creado esta parte seguimos con la piel. Con el 2B se creo una capa de grafito muy suave como acariciando el papel, para luego con la ayuda de un pequeño pincel de cerda suave expandir el grafito y así crear una superficie suave y pareja dejando a la vista los diferentes tonos para las luces y sombras.

Para las sombras más oscuras y darle profundidad al retrato usaremos el mismo lápiz 2B, pero haciendo un poco más de presión sobre el papel.

Hay que tener en cuenta que se debe tener una mano firme pero liviana para mezclar y difuminar cuidadosamente el dibujo para obtener un acabado uniforme y realista.

Para el cabello y barba tomamos el lápiz 2B y creamos una primera capa con líneas muy suaves siguiendo la caída del cabello y barba, para luego difuminar con el pincel. Volvemos con una segunda capa, pero con un poco más de presión, aplicando en las zonas más oscuras del cabello para luego difuminamos con el pincel.

Ya para terminar repasamos con el lápiz 8B los detalles de su casco y cuernos, creando una primera y segunda capa, y con un borrador he ir sacando luces, de igual manera algunas partes de su rostro para así dar un toque de realismo al dibujo.

This drawing took me an hour of work. Although I would have liked to have included more images of the process step by step, unfortunately, it was not possible for me as it was a practice drawing done from start to finish.
