"Dad, dad, please be strong." says Clara in a consoling voice.

Martin responds in a broken tone "I am good, I am good, just take me to Clara's old office, where I first met her."

"Yes dad, let's head over to mom's office." Kate replies.

Now, they are inside the town hall and entering the Clerks' office.

"Good afternoon Mr. Martin and Kate, how are you doing today?" Mr. Smith greets them with a lively smile.

Mr. Smith is a senior bookkeeper in Clerks' office and knows Martin quite well, his father was a librarian when Clara had been working as an archivist in the town hall.

"Except for my legs, I am doing really well, and I hope you are all good by the grace of almighty." Martin responds to him and then extends his hand to Mr. Smith.

Mr. Smith holds Martin's hand for a handshake and says "yes sir, all good, thanks." and then added, "I have never seen such a dedicated husband in my entire life, who visits his wife's office even after her death, and never misses a year till today."

"Your father knew well how much I loved her, this town hall was the beginning of our relationship, and unfortunately the end also, she gave her life in this very town hall." Martin says softly, and after a brief moment, he speaks again "She was one of her kind, a person born in thousand years, she had a smile that could win hearts, she had a voice that could please anyone, she had eyes that could hypnotize anyone to speak the truth, she was a gifted woman, she was a giver, she never took anything from anyone, because she had a compassionate heart."

"You are right sir, my father told me great stories about her bravery, sympathy, and care." Mr. Smith tells Martin in agreement.

Martin asks Mr. Smith "I think we should pay a visit to her old office immediately, so you can perform your routine work without any further delay."

Mr. Smith responds in agreement "Oh! sure, that's why you are here, and I know you do not take more than 5 minutes, you respect our office decorum very well."

Mr. Smith takes Martin and Kate to the old office area, which is now turned into a record room, half of the room is filled with large racks. Clara's oakwood table and a pinewood chair are placed in a corner, the wooden name holder is still placed on the table displaying her name and designation.

Kate takes her father close to the chair, Martin lays her hands on the armrests of the chair and then says "Kate, I can feel your mom is still sitting on the chair and working tirelessly."

"You told us that you first met mom in her office, I can also feel her gentle whisperings." Kate replies to him while laying her hands on Martin's shoulder."

Martin places a pink rose by her nameplate holder and kisses the table border. Martin thanks Mr. Smith for allowing them to pass some time in her office and then leaves the town hall to go back home.
