A FUN WEEKEND AT NGWO CAVES AND WATERFALL

Life as a college student is very time consuming but as soon i saw this post i decided to bring out a little time to write on it.

When i was around 12 years old my father came home on a Friday after work and announced that we were going on a family vacation for the weekend at ngwo caves and waterfall!! and since we were on a mid term break that period we would go and come back on the next Monday and he had already reserved and arranged everything for my three siblings and i and my mom all we had to do was pack the stuff we needed.

It sounded unbelievable because we had never gone on a family vacation before but my father was very serious about it so we got packing and the next morning my mom prepared cooked meals and packed them in a big flask and off we went for a fun weekend.

Now let me talk about the ngwo caves and waterfall for a bit, it is located in Enugu state in my country Nigeria and what a beautiful sight to behold, it is completely surrounded by beautiful trees of Ngwo Pine Forest, it has a gently flowing stream of spring water.

Ngwo Cave naturally was formed in limestone by the waterfall dropping down from a small opening at the roof of the cave.

The waterfall formed a shallow pool at the cave floor and then it flows out as a small stream of water that has both warm and hot water flowing out together from it.

There are more rocks just behind the big one and some needs physical climbing in order to access it.

So when we got there my father led us to the hotel there and lodged in, my father and mother took one room, my two younger sisters took one and my elder brother and i took one.

After unpacking we rested a bit then went out to explore the place, a tour guide was in hand to assist us and other families that came too, he answered our questions politely and showed us some beautiful sights in the place.

We toured the entire place and by the time we were done everybody was tired so we went straight to our rooms and ate dinner then slept off.

The next day being Sunday my father organized a little get together with the other families, we prayed together then played some family friendly games before breakfast was served.

After breakfast we went swimming at the waterfalls, it was such a wonderful feeling to be in the water that has two temperatures, we swam till lunch time.

The tour guide came around and organized a little competition for the families and i know you are expecting me to say that my family won but no we came last but that is not the point, the point is we had maximum fun and we spent time together as a family.

When the weather changed we retired back to our rooms and the next day we said goodbye to the families who were now our friends and then got into our fathers car and home we went.

I could not stop talking about my experiences and the amount of fun i had when we got home and even when school resumed i told all my friends about the fun weekend i had at ngwo caves and waterfalls.

Unfortunately, I don't have the family pictures we took because of an incident but trust me the place is worth a try and Enugu state has many other tourist attractions you can visit for a family vacation.
