15 años de mi sobrina mayor [Esp/Eng]

Hola, hola, ¿qué tal, amigos? ¿Cómo están? Porque todo muy bien, gracias, adiós, aprovechando de descansar un ratito con Jade, que a veces, bueno, se coloca que no quiere comer y toca sentarme con ella a hacer que coma como un propio bebé y, para los que no conocen a Jade, es mi pequeña perrita. Espero que por su lado todo esté bien en sus casitas.

Hi, hi, how’s it going, mates? How are you all? Everything’s going really well, thanks, bye for now – I’m just making the most of a little rest with Jade, who sometimes, well, gets a bit fussy and doesn’t want to eat, so I have to sit with her and get her to eat like a proper baby. And for those of you who don’t know Jade, she’s my little dog. I hope everything’s going well for you all at home.

Saben qué en la mayoría de las chicas o por lo menos en mi caso los 15 años son una etapa bastante bonita la gente dice que pasamos a ser señorita pero a mí pensar somos señoritas desde que tenemos nuestro desarrollo No necesariamente por cumplir 15 años lo cual para mí sí representa una etapa bonita porque por lo menos en mi caso fue que me dejaron depilarme las cejas, en incluso arreglarme un poco el cabello que siempre ha sido una de mis mayores debilidades pues no me siento segura con mi cabello en ese entonces y representó esta etapa bonita de cambio y esa etapa en donde sentí que me podías arreglar y podía ser yo.

You know, for most girls – or at least in my case – turning 15 is quite a lovely time. People say we become young ladies, but I reckon we’re young ladies from the moment we hit puberty. It’s not necessarily just about turning 15, although for me it does mark a lovely stage because, at least in my case, it meant I was allowed to pluck my eyebrows, and even style my hair a bit – which has always been one of my biggest insecurities, as I didn’t feel confident about my hair back then. It marked this lovely stage of change, and that time when I felt I could style myself and just be me.

Pero a qué voy con todo esto no todas las personas les encanta este día como en el caso de mi sobrina la cual no quería celebrar sus 15 años ni mucho menos bailar el vals, y que a última hora se entusiasmó y su papá como pudo le realizó una pequeña reunión en casa de una prima donde cada quien puso su granito de arena porque por lo menos a mi me correspondió lo que fue encargarme de peinarle y maquillarla el cual fue un reto porque me reí mucho porque mi sobrina se corta el cabello en sus tiempos de fastidio por así decirlo y realmente no tenía un orden en el largo del Cabello Lo Cual Fue un reto bastante grande poderla peinar, yo estaba en el compartir de mi primo y literalmente me tocó salir corriendo para poder cumplir también con ella incluso llegué tan tarde que quería hacerle un pequeño post de todo lo que le hice pero llegué allá montada sobre la hora y no me dio chance nada de eso porque si no con gusto de los hubiera compartido por acá Pero la verdad es que al fin de cuenta se logró el objetivo y ella pudo tener sus 15 años.

But what I’m getting at with all this is that not everyone loves this day – take my niece, for example, who didn’t want to celebrate her 15th birthday, let alone dance the waltz, but at the last minute she got excited and her dad, as best he could, organised a small gathering at a cousin’s house where everyone did their bit – because, at least as far as I was concerned, my job was to do her hair and make-up, which was quite a challenge. I had a good laugh because my niece cuts her hair off when she’s feeling fed up, so to speak, and her hair really wasn’t all the same length, which made quite a big challenge to style her hair, I was at my cousin’s party and literally had to rush off to sort her out as well; I even arrived so late that I wanted to write a little post about everything I’d done for her, but I got there at the eleventh hour and didn’t get a chance to do any of that – otherwise I’d have been happy to share it here. But the truth is that, in the end, we achieved our goal and she was able to celebrate her 15th birthday.
