Consintiendo un rato a mi sobrina [Esp/Eng]

Hola, hola, ¿qué tal, amigos, cómo están? Por aquí, gracias a Dios, todo muy bien. La verdad, bastante impresionada de que todavía, a varios días de la espeluznante tragedia que vivimos como venezolanos, aún estén saliendo sobrevivientes, y eso es algo que cada vez que lo veo lloro y es algo que a todos nos toca el alma. Cada vez que aparece un nuevo sobreviviente, la verdad es que es algo que conmueve, aun sabiendo todo lo que han pasado y tantos muertos; yo pienso que todas esas personas volvieron con un propósito bonito en esta vida. 🥰

Hello, hello, how are you all, friends? Over here, thank God, everything’s going very well. To be honest, I’m quite amazed that even now, several days after the horrific tragedy we’ve experienced as Venezuelans, survivors are still being found, and that’s something that makes me cry every time I see it – it really touches all our hearts. Every time a new survivor is found, it’s truly moving, even knowing everything they’ve been through and the sheer number of deaths; I think all those people have returned with a beautiful purpose in this life. 🥰

Pero volviendo al tema, hoy quería compartir con ustedes un momento especial con mi sobrina. No sé si se acuerdan que el día de mi graduación me realicé unas ondas que posteriormente mi sobrina las bautizó como ramen, cosa que me dio mucha risa, pero por lo onduladito sí tiene algo de razón y, bueno, yo desde hace rato quería una onduladora y nunca me la compraba, hasta estos días que fui a comprar la máquina para el Día del Padre y las vi, así que me animé.

Y a que no adivinan, lo mejor de todo, resulta que en la tienda donde yo la iba a comprar había cashea pero yo siempre tengo la extraña costumbre de que cuando voy a comprar algo, evalúo el procedimiento por cashea online a ver qué tal, y en la tienda donde yo la iba a comprar costaba 80 dólares y resulta que la conseguí por soy techno en 43 $ y brinqué de la emoción.

But getting back to the point, today I wanted to share a special moment with my niece with you. I don’t know if you remember that on my graduation day I got my hair curled, which my niece later dubbed ‘ramen’ – something that made me laugh a lot – but she does have a point about the wavy look, and, well, I’d been wanting a curling iron for ages but never got round to buying one, until recently when I went to buy a gift for Father’s Day and spotted them, so I took the plunge.

And guess what? The best bit of all is that the shop where I was going to buy it had a cash-and-carry option, but I always have this odd habit of checking the price online via cash-and-carry whenever I’m going to buy something, just to see how it compares. In the shop where I was going to buy it, it cost 80 dollars, but it turns out I got it on Soy Techno for 43 dollars – I practically jumped for joy.

No quise desaprovechar la oportunidad, así que la compré, y mi sobrina estaba que quería que le hiciera los ramen. Y para nosotras fue un momento bastante especial, porque ella desea tener su cabello rulo, así que yo no sabía mucho para empezar dividiéndole su cabellito, en pequeñas partes y aplicando las ondas.Cuando terminé la verdad es que resultado lo amé y mi sobrina estaba con una sonrisa que bueno, ni les cuento estaba súper emocionada tanto, así que me dijo que era la tenía que peinar, así para ir por la escuela, pero saben qué para la escuela no está permitido, sino que simplemente yo le quise cumplir su deseo un ratico de verla feliz.

I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity, so I bought it, and my niece was absolutely desperate for me to do her hair in a ramen style. It was quite a special moment for us, because she’s always wanted to have curly hair, so I didn’t really know where to start – dividing her little hair into small sections and creating the waves. When I’d finished, to be honest, I absolutely loved the result, and my niece had such a big smile on her face – well, I can’t even tell you how excited she was – so she told me I had to style it like that for her to go to school. But you know what? It’s not allowed at school, but I just wanted to make her wish come true for a little while, just to see her happy.
