So today after the close of work while I was having a talk with one of the security guards I heard someone called my name out loud in the lobby, when I turned I didn't instantly Recall the face, then when I went closer I extended my hands to have a hand handshake then he just taped me on the hand with his left hand, my eyes dropped on his right hand with a medical glove, that moment I looked back at his face and then I knew...

Earlier last year I was attacked by robbers and hospitalized for more than three weeks, after the surgical operation I was taken to another ward for proper monitoring by nurses, doctors, physiotherapist and the specialists who Handled the surgery.... That's when I met him....

After a week in the ward we became like family, all of us at the ward, to my left was a young man Burnt by fire all over his body, he was bandaged from head to toe, and he was almost like a living ghost, the flames had severely damaged his first layer skin,

Then there was another man after him still fire incident, but his was just the whole of his left arm, there was these man to my far left adjacent to me, he never left his bed the whole of the two weeks plus I was there, everything was done to him on his bed, he was feeding through a tube, I heard he was shot at by armed rubbers so the bullet had damaged his spin and caused severe internal injury, I felt so sorry for him, almost the same incident as mine, just that the armed rubbers used a knife or axe or whatever to hit my left hand, which caused a severe damage to my left hand wrist, the cut was deep it damaged the tendons of the fingers which prompted a surgical procedures to be carried out in order to repair the damaged tendons....

Just opposite me was a boy of about 10-12 years old still fire incident, he's was like the whole of left side burnt, he was attended to by his mom, I felt like he was the only son of the 45-50 years old woman who was always with him in the hospital, I never saw any body coming around to visit, I and the boy got talking and he told me that he has been admitted in the hospital since 2021, I was shocked to know this, so someone can actually spend a whole year in the hospital, I couldn't phatom the thought of it, cause I felt like crying, so young and already suffering this much....

Back to my friend I met today, he was to my far right, tho we didn't talk much back at the hospital which got me all shocked today when he called me out loud, I can't actually grasp what really was his case but his left hand was always bandaged to his abdomen and something like a metal run through it like attaching his hand to his belly, I just could not figure it out,

He was more excited and pleased to see me, with his full face light up with smile as if we knew ourselves so well, I too was pleased to see him, we talked at length and he told me he had to go over another surgery on his left hand, but he's okay now, just that he had to wear the special glove to advert questions from people about what happened to him,

I just remembered the times in the hospital and I'm glad that after all the surgery and back and forth painful experience I can still use my hands perfectly well ....
