SWITCHING FROM HOMESCHOOLING TO MAIN SCHOOLING SYSTEM

Hello everyone, it’s a new dawn here in Nigeria, and it will be interesting to know that the holidays are over and all schools in the country are fully commenced today the 10th day of January 2022….

And so for parents it’s another roll of expenses for us going to the bookshops to get a new set of books, pencils, pen, textbooks erasers, new pairs of stockings, school wears, footwears and countless other demands the kids are making, trust me it can be really hectic and stressful running around trying to gather all these stuffs and spending too much….

Now we need to start planning for their fees, because three weeks into the new term the schools will start making demands for them….

Since the fun seasons are over we all need to buckle up, no more staying late night watching Tv for the kids as early as 5:30am in the morning am up trying to prepare their meals and lunch park for the day, while doing this I wake them p to start bathing and get ready for school, I also need to keep up with time as not to go late to work, which I must report to duty before 7:30, my lucky charm is that by 6:30 the bus will be at the gate to pick them up, so we need to keep up with time as to avoid delay…..

Still on HOMESCHOOLING ROUTINE I’ve got a plan on ground as to keep up with their academics activities, to follow them up and keep track of their performance in school, so therefore I’ve decided each day as they return from school first they go shower and relax for a while, later in the evening say around 16:00 when am back from work after settling in for a while we heads to going thru the days activities in the classroom each of them have to kind of tell me what they understood in school, asking some question where they didn’t get clarification, after these we will go into the assignment of the day, if there’s any, if not 30minutes reading time before play time or TV……

These as been are manner even before the holidays , and it was really worth it, cause when they all brought their result to me of last term they all did excellently well and I was so proud of them, it gives me joy and a sense of fulfillment that at least they are begin to fully grab the meaning of cutting down excessive Tv time and play time , one of them was so excited that he came to me one of the days saying he topped the class, beating his rival over the first position, cause the boy has been challenging him,…I so boosted in laughter and I told him, study even harder and soon, no one will even come close to you,….

Most times during the weekend we spent some good time together playing some games like chess, ludo, puzzle, and whot, why I decided on these games and not all the time on books is because thes games has a way of making them pay attention to detail, helps them focus, building observational skills and their cognitive abilities as well. Especially on Saturdays , and I also give them freetime to have fun and spend some quality time with our nextdoor neighbors,
