Un desayuno mientras esperamos el ferry [Esp/Eng]

ENGLISH
Greetings, my dear and cherished friends. Well, I’ll tell you that after all the medical appointments and that news that brought my treatment to a halt, all I wanted was to go home. I won’t deny that I felt really sad because I was hoping to start my radiation therapy to close this chapter, but God had other plans, and things didn’t turn out as we’d hoped.
But my faith is stronger than ever, so I’m making the best of a bad situation. That same Monday, we looked up the ferry departure times, and the earliest one was Tuesday morning.
So on Tuesday, I got up very early to get everything ready, say goodbye to the people who supported us on the mainland, and head to the ferry terminal to buy tickets.
We arrived around 8 a.m.—the last thing I wanted was to not get tickets—so we went straight there to buy our tickets and then skipped breakfast.
I don’t know if I came across as a poor girl, but I was shocked by the food prices here—a small arepa for $5, an empanada for $2.50, and a fresh juice for $3. That’s ridiculous! I told my husband, “With $5, we can eat half a chicken in Margarita,” hahaha.
It’s outrageous—here in Margarita, two small empanadas cost $1, and there, one small empanada is almost three dollars. That can’t be right.
But anyway, after walking around and thinking it over, we decided to buy a couple of arepas—they brought the price down to $2.50 each—and a juice for the two of us.
They were good, but nothing special.
