Day 3 : Pouring Rain, Eating Breakfast, and Interviews

Hold on to your dreams, remember your purpose, and don't lose sight of your main goal — no matter how hard it gets. Let them be your anchor on tough days. They are what will keep you going, until the day you finally feel satisfied, proud, and successful.

Another day, another story to tell you, my dear readers. Today is all about our processing journey — the heavy traffic, the nonstop rain, and moments with my colleagues.

We were advised to wake up early because the service van would be there at 7 AM. I didn't set an alarm on my phone since a lot of us were sleeping in one room and I was afraid to wake them up.Thankfully, my friend woke me up at 4:39 AM to prepare, and we just waited for the van to arrive. It's better to wait than to rush when I'm not done preparing.

My friend and I just had coffee and leftover bread for breakfast. We thought it would be enough until we reached the office. We only brought fried rice because the cleaners didn’t cook new rice. We’ll just buy the viand later.

We headed out early according to the advised time. But the challenging part was that the van was loaded. We had a hard time during the trip with the three packs of bongbong from the province because they were supposed to be sent to the office. The traffic was super heavy since it was Monday. Since we didn’t have breakfast, we felt hungry in the middle of the ride, so we ate the fried rice we brought. While chitchatting, one of my colleagues beside me was feeling unwell but didn’t inform us about it — maybe she was shy to tell. Good thing we brought ointment, and my friend pressed her hands to release the air. After a while she felt relieved and felt a little better. We headed out at 7 AM and arrived at 11 AM.

Since morning the sky had been gloomy. When we arrived, the rain poured a little, but it wasn’t a problem because we would be heading inside the office. There were already staff there, so we went inside to wait for the interviewer. We had to wait for some time because the staff were busy, so we had no choice but to wait. Only my friend and I were done with the interview, and the rest will come back after lunch. When we were about to go out to grab food, the rain suddenly poured again so we had to let it pass.

After some time, the rain became lighter and we rushed to find a cheaper place that only sells chicken because some of our other colleagues are Muslim. While we were eating, the rain poured heavily again. But it didn’t stop us from eating our order. Just when we were finished, the rain stopped and we rushed back to the office. Good thing the office has a second floor because the flood was too big and the water came in through the door.

That made me realize a lot about the difference between the city and the province. The crowded city is experiencing a lot of flooding, the traffic was too heavy, and people were stranded everywhere. Floods cause a lot of diseases and hassles. I saw posts on social media — people are really struggling to survive. It’s so sad. I hope the flood control projects will be resolved sooner because Filipinos are really having a hard time.

At 5 PM we headed home. The driver was rushing to avoid hassles on the road because the flood could rise anytime.

We were thankful that we weren’t stuck in traffic or stranded anywhere. The day was productive though — we arrived safe and sound, but soaking wet.

That's all for today. Thank you for reading and stopping by. Lovelots😘
