Heart Beats Strongest for the Side Passions

I enjoy my time at work for the most parts. A large chunk of what I actually enjoy is being surrounded by my co-workers and customers who are very friendly, civil and respectful. That said, the actual job is performed more as a duty than anything else. To be honest I could probably keep doing this through my Thirties, but I doubt I'll be excited by the actual roles as opposed to the engagements and experience of conversing with people on a daily.

That means that am always open to switching jobs and while money isn't everything I consider, an attractive remuneration package certainly plays a major role in how those decisions pan out. Am very cautious of where my energy goes and how much effort I put into things. I consider myself a hard worker but giving all one has for something that only offers financial incentives for a period doesn't seem like something am willing to do.

Then comes in things I actually care about and want to build. People always talk about following through with our passions but I've had the experience of barely being able to figure it out. There's also the case of having productive passions. We can like several things but I believe what sets a passion apart from a hobby is the ability to build, grow and the tendency for returns. Your side passions should have the potential to pay off big time in the future I believe.

These days am in the process of identifying what those passions are that really deserve my time and effort with the intention of squeezing whatever available time after the routine work to it. Come to think of it Hive certainly qualifies as a side passion. It has the right mix of interest, excitement and potential for generating returns. If the biggest asset we have is Time (and it is), then it should definitely be going to the right places.
