While I am not one for sentiments, I can't help but feel that big things are coming our way in the crypto space. This is based off on events that have been happening lately from more high profile countries recognizing crypto as an asset, to high profile takeovers like the new UK prime minister and Elon Musk at Twitter.

If you're looking for more substance, you don't have to look far with the rise of institutional investors in the space. From big powerhouses like Tesla to payments companies like MoneyGram, there seems to be a widespread acceptance to either hold or actively integrate the use of crypto in their business and investment models.

As the critics continue to focus on price, we in the space have chosen to divert our attention to what is really important. That is that the level of integration for blockchain technology and widespread acceptance is perhaps happening at a faster rate than ever before. Perhaps it is the reason why price is the only thing that crypto critics can point to.

Why I kind of like this sustained dip in prices is that it has given sufficient room to innovate and grow by removing the focus from profiting off price fluctuations. If we still had the massive boom for instance, the interest might have been increased but most of it would've been superficial and there may not have been quite as many innovations to talk about.

Take the early days of Hive (then Steemit) for example. A lot of people were quickly distracted by price fluctuations and couldn't see the obvious flaws of the model we had in the past. It has taken several bear cycles and periods of long sustained depression but we finally have a workable model as a result of these changes.

Conclusion

What this signals to me is that we are going to be more suited during the next prime bull run, and certainly everyone is going to be a lot more experienced on the right projects, as well as how to hedge against possible price fluctuations in the future. The next boom might seem like forever away, but if we choose to focus on the blockchain from a development perspective, then it becomes clear that true sustainable progress isn't so far away.
