Only Fans Isn't a P..n Site

I wanted to name my article 'the dangers of excess freedom' but this sounded cooler in my head. If someone did no background research on what the Onlyfans site is all about, the conclusion will likely be a content platform for explicit content. That wasn't the original intention, but one oversight or deliberate action in their value proposition changed everything. They refused to put any limits on what type of content could be produced at the initial stage.

No doubt the decision has had both its advantages and disadvantages. The site has become a renowned adult site while still locking down a substantial loyal base of adult content consumers. However in doing so, they've limited their growth sort of as many other content creators and consumers may not associate with the platform solely based on what people perceive. Actions have consequences after all. It makes me wonder if some of us really think extensively about a platform, project or World without any governance structure whatsoever.

We love freedoms and often want freedom to the full extent, but then it so easily becomes available for abuse. On the flipside those who campaign for controls are often the same class who try to extend the limits of control and restrict freedoms. There is no perfect balance, but we're constantly reminded in any pathway we take that actions indeed have consequences. Hive has a governance structure that I think is one of the best in the crypto space but even the platform has its staunch critics. Many have left and accused others on this platform of intolerance and dictatorship.

What I believe is that we should first create and understand a vision of what we're trying to build, then identify the things that don't serve such purposes. There are very few social or financial offerings that is a one-fit-all these days and we need to properly identify what fits and what doesn't. The general Vision of Hive will rather want us to be known for innovation, and integrating several projects into the space. Anything that seems alien to the vision will very likely be immediately rejected by Hive believers.
