Penny Wise

Just how would you rate your Hive rewards? Unless you are one of the consistent top earners, most consider the rewards as negligible and not worth the effort. It is why some people give up on the platform after some time, when in reality the alternatives they turn to offer zero rewards.

The obligations aren't so difficult, nor overly complex. Hive largely demands time above everything else. Perhaps 30 minutes every day will be enough to churn out a quality post or comment on a useful topic and scrape some pennies, which isn't a bad way to spend 30 minutes everyday. Where it gets interesting is when we add up these minutes into producing something tangible.

The effect of compounded action is something that is quite baffling to behold. Merely deciding to take action in this area will produce tremendous improvements in virtually all areas as well as our outlook on things. If you write consistently everyday you'd be a much better writer, and if you scrape the pennies after something they become something of decent value.

One might say the opposite is true the way we spend. I for one have the habit of making little, seemingly insignificant purchases on a regular basis that puts a major dent on my books when I reflect after a period. They become quite noticeable after a while and show just how powerful consistent action taken in whichever direction can be.

I have discovered that those who take the Hive rewards for granted come from areas where the standard of living is comparatively high. It is actually quite normal, as there is a natural tendency to take certain things for granted, or consider them economically futile. Value is defined best where it is most appreciated, and it usually takes a while before the economically advantaged begin to see value in their work.

It takes something quite powerful for people to appreciate seemingly insignificant additions until they mature. For some it might be difficult circumstances, while some people have built a strong sense of appreciation over time for whichever blessings they are able to attract. My own argument is that we often are too comfortable not improving that having to grow in incremental bits. Sure the rewards are not great, but what is the alternative?

Conclusion

As I get older, I am increasingly convinced that we can achieve just about anything with enough consistency and effort. It is why a platform like leofinance that continues to develop inspires a lot of confidence from me and the general community. Those little bits that point towards progress are not insignificant. Every Leo, or Hive asset we are privileged to earn this period is not insignificant. It all adds up, and those that persist long enough will get to know the true value.

It's really a pleasure going through this, I just made a post about consistency, seeing your post made me realize I am on the right track, no reward is insignificant over time although it seems now, stack it, even a coin worth $0.5 a 100 thousand of it is a profit, just keep on hiving, keep on stacking and you will see the benefits.

I have blogged consistently for about 18 months now...at least an article a day. I have only earned above $100 twice. Most of my rewards are in the $6 to $10 range. Yet it is astonishing how much it has added up. I am in the process of taking a bit from my stake for a project am working on but there won't even be this option if I wasn't consistent

I think one of the ways to enjoy this platform is to engage with others , I noticed that so many people do not engage with others , if you don't engage with others , then others might not engage you too..and that will have a negative effect on the journey of the person on the hive platform.

Engagement is so important, that's the most authentic way to get known, other than buying a huge amount of Hive and staking.

I used to engage quite ferociously but have fallen off quite a bit due to my schedule. I hope to ramp things up a bit though in the near future

Very well said. I think it is quite notticeable that almost everything starts small and over time it can become big with consistency, commitment and dedication. A small seed when planted can become a gigantic tree.

Consistency and persistence are key at HIVE, few understand it and that's why many quit.
Very good post.
