Safety Net

I've never had a large risk appetite from time. This has ensured that I always seek out the low risk, stable ventures to approach which naturally offers far less and matures over a much longer period. The passing of time has only worsened this peculiarity and I am even more risk averse with age. The problem is that from time to time opportunities present themselves for exponential growth that simply eludes me because no action is taken. There seems to be something about what a safety net offers that's too good to pass up.

Certain times I do question myself on my decision making process. What really is meant by safety? We humans are wired to get comfortable with repetitions and perhaps that's what safety entails. Nobody certainly likes being taken by surprise, especially with an unexpected negative turn of events. Yet is it almost inevitable that we get to experience this at some point in our lives as individuals? Could we really expect life to happen without twists and turns?

I like people who are forward moving with life, and work in tandem with their vision, often making provisions for adaption where necessary. Working like this though isn't easy. There's always the feeling of being on edge and the need to act before things go bad. I always say I want to make a lot of money, but unlike some Rich folks I actually want to enjoy that wealth and not spend a considerable amount of time trying to defend it and being apprehensive about the future.

I think we can also create safety nets for ourselves by choosing to work with one eye on the future. Most of us choose this option anyways. That way it minimizes risk and gives us something to fall back on. Am looking at building something of a safety net with crypto over the next five years. Who knows what might happen if I actually pursue those dreams.

The more I hang about, the more apparent it becomes that the people who want to make money and the people who want to enjoy the practical benefits of having money are not the same people. There are those who genuinely want to make money. As in the act of watching those numbers go up or holding the cash in hand. Then there's those who see money as a useful path to other things. Different.

Good luck with your net-weaving :D
