I have a project coming up that requires a fair bit of money. As I crack my head and try to see where exactly the money could possibly come from, I have suddenly been exposed to some other previously unnoticed things about my financial lifestyle.

Naturally, I am quite conservative in my approach to money and have adopted a semi minimalist lifestyle over the years (even though I have my vanities). However, there is no doubt that it (my finances) can be improved on and this particular need has revealed quite a few areas where those improvements can be implemented.

Firstly, for me there are too many leakages when it comes to my spending habits. It isn't like am a compulsive or luxury spender, but trying it give a honest self assessment over the last couple of months had revealed a need to improve on what is currently practiced. Blocking out leakages can be as important as increasing one's bottom line and this is certainly true in my case.

The thing I'll like to point out is how those leakages compound very fast into a significant sum in no time. I am trying to be more conscious of this as I seek ways to raise capital, knowing that eating into one's capital will be anti productive in making efforts to actually raise capital.

Without a sense of urgency about the need to raise capital, it may have been business as usual. Knowing that there is a deadline to this venture has prompted me to look both inward and outwards in my bid to raise something substantial. Our approach to things when moving with a sense of urgency is quite different compared to when we are left on our own.

The ability to make use of those dominant capacities inherent in everyone of us is tied to how determined we are to see things through within a timeframe. Perhaps working with a sense of urgency everyday isn't practicable, but it certainly is a proven way of seen our goals accomplished.

Conclusion

In our time of need comes heightened consciousness and resourcefulness. If there was a way to live like this all the time am sure we'll each be in better financial positions. While I continue to explore avenues to raise funds before the set deadline, am certainly interested in living a more conscious lifestyle as far as my finances are concerned
