There's A Community for Everyone on the Hive Chain

I started off primarily with poetry, and was intrigued by the family protection community for personal reasons so I also contributed whenever I could. Fast forward to today and the major areas I create content on the chain are finance and sports, each for its own reason.

Perhaps this isn't my final niche, and perhaps it is. One of the best evolutions to come to Hive was the prioritization of communities on the chain, with some even launching their respective tokens. Of course the vision was that they become powerful standalone layers that contribute to the whole. While we aren't there yet, there is a ton of promise shown.

Starting out and finding the right community can be tricky. There are quite a few factors to consider. The first is interest. Our personal interests have to align with the communities in question. There is also the case of the general community being interested in the content you create. It is one thing to create beautiful content after all, but another for people to actually be interested in it.

Since Hive is still in its early stages primarily, virtually all communities are still up and coming. There aren't any that are clearly established (leofinance?) therefore we have the option of helping to build virtually any community that we decide upon. Building requires patience and effort though, and we must be ready for a long, drawn out battle before we actualize our visions.

There are some general factors that may influence our choice though. If you're looking for general community acceptance, it is best to choose content that is general and relatable. Take for instance finance, as everyone can relate and there is always something to talk about whether it is with personal or global financial situations and they are all. Relatable.

There's also the case of passion and inspiration. It isn't always easy to take about issues that aren't general and relatable, as they tend to require a bit more inspiration and imagination. I've seen a few people go inactive here on Hive because of their inability to come up with a write-up for consumption. I felt this when I was involved in poetry, and my biggest challenge was simply coming up with content that didn't feel like a waste of time and effort. Of course there are others in this niche who have excelled, so it is a matter of individual preferences and circumstances.

Conclusion

If you stay long enough on the Hive chain, you'll find a community that interests you. If you are Willing to give time and effort to building that community during these early days, there's no limits to what it could potentially become.
