We Can All Be Violent

This isn't my usual focus, but certain life events have compelled me to express myself in some way, in the best way I know how. My colleague was telling me earlier about how his friend was murdered by robbers a few days go. Peaceful, responsible, family guy from the description.

I've stopped asking myself myself why bad things happen to good people, but it doesn't mean I must overlook every evil deed that victimizes a good person. Whether it has to do with religious extremists or other criminals, there is no doubt that the vast majority of victims are innocents.

Funny thing is that those who choose to live right outnumber those who leave death and destruction in their wake quite significantly. If we all choose the path of destruction, there will be no World to speak of.

Those who rebel against social rules are often admired from places ranging from classrooms to the media. However, many people do not seem to understand just how difficult abiding by rules and regulations are. The reward for being an upright citizen should not be to be fed prey to those who choose to destroy.

There is a reason why jungle rules (survival of the fittest) do not apply to humans when it comes to destruction. It is because just a single individual with enough intent and contempt is capable of wanton destruction of lives and property, not to talk about having the entire World with that kind of mindset.

Nobody is as good as they imagine. We all have both good and evil sides at constant struggle with one another living within us. The fact that we choose to take heed and follow our conscience should not be reason to be victimized.

We have instead channeled most of that malevolent instinct into creativity that has given us the most prosperous and peaceful era in human history. However, there are some who still feel violence presents the only reasonable path forward. Rather than create, they choose to destroy just like the proverbial thief in the Bible.

I'll still choose to live right any day, anytime; but it saddens me to think that I could end up being a victim to those who don't based squarely on this choice.

Sorry for ranting, just had to get this off.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
It somehow resonates with my post today..
Yes, when evil spills out, it doesn't care who's around...so anyone can get hurt, even the most innocent and good person..

I don't say I was taught to be a bad person there was a time in my I could have been a bad person when I was younger guns was around. Thank lord I was never shot now I own know guns because I might just be that bad person.

It very sad to see all these killing of innocent kids getting killed for nothing. I would do what my dad always said was to tar and feather them .What you do wrong should be done to you end return .If they see that something bad like that happens to there friend they might think again before acting .Let them have there gun when they get hung from that platform .

Most people die from accidents and when you know them that is the hardest part you live they die be the saddest thing ever happened to you
