Why A Hive Clone Can't be Forged

handymang53e96c7f6_640.jpg

It is really difficult to stop a moving train, and even taking a picture may end up blur. This scenario is quite similar to how I view progress on Hive at the moment. Developments which once stalled are now moving at a rocket pace since the fork off steem and we have seen the Hive chain diverge into different dimensions.

Considering Hive is a clone of sorts in itself, we have to look at how this clone has interestingly surpassed its progenitor in virtually all ramifications. While this feat isn't unusual, it is rare in a new territory where first movers advantage plays a major role in market share allocation.

Hive took up the mantle from its progenitor and has simply been flying since then. From what was largely known as a blogging platform, the chain has taken on new dimensions in the area of content creation, investing and gaming which were not even conceptualized when its progenitor was formed. I bet most people who started the Hive chain didn't imagine it'll pan out like this.

We owe the developments of course to the developers, but the open source system also meant that anyone with ideas and skills can contribute and make an impact on the chain. It is crazy to imagine that what may make Hive succeed won't be the Hive.blog site, something once inconceivable. Rather, there are still potentially untapped areas to explore from the several routes the Hive chain can succeed.

Bring on the Hive Clone

Hive is constantly evolving and making significant upgrades and changes on the chain. It will be very difficult for any platform to compete with the level of developments that take place in real time. Furthermore, the Hive chain isn't one project but a combination of different projects, many of them independently run.

The communities are also unique in the sense they we are fully aware of our ecosystem, and everyone works within their habitat towards bettering the ecosystem. It will be rare to find a community as passionate if anyone decides to give cloning a shot. When we forked off steem, the bulk of the community jumped ship without giving it a second thought, despite the inherent risk from venturing into the unknown.

Conlusion

There just isn't enough dynamism for someone to replicate what we have here on Hive. That isn't to say we've arrived though, as we still occupy just a tiny fraction of the market. What we're pushing for now is market acceptance and dominance, and it is only a matter of time before we take full advantage of being such a novel project.

You can 100% make a better product than Hive, it just will take 6 years and will cost money.

I agree and hive is kinda a crap product in idea. It's nothing new about paid like systems

Anybody who tries the bitcoinmyk.com algo and wallet for a week and comes back and says hive is better is probably a liar

If they try it for one week and come back and tell me the hive circle jerk is better means it's a 90% chance they are lying to you

Granted hive does have money and I believe network effect on the decline

However on paper as a second layer solution I'm prepared to debate anyone but they won't do that lol

If they do they know they will tell 100 lies before were done

More people using a product intially doesn't make it better

what I don't like about is that there are lots of parts of it that aren't all that transparent and obviously understandable, from a UX/UI perspective, to the average potential user.

Also, I feel 100% that my data is being mined and sold here. I do not at all feel like my identity or privacy is protected on Hive, nor do I believe that to have ever been a priority for the devs.

When a better, bigger product comes along, i'm outta here. I just don't use your website @mykos because I have too much fun shitposting here and pissing off trannies.

Valid concerns but misplaced. To mine data we need a ton of info on you.

We don't even run ads. To generate value if u drop a promotional link
You pay the system with our token

You're looking at it like Facebook. Nah we don't mine data. Think of it as an interactive community wallet. We rather focus on being a currency that can get money and food to people

I wouldn't say we perfect no system is but we're 100x better than hive. Hive is certainly not a Bastian of privacy. It's not private at all

Yeah it's absolutely no money in it for us to mine data

I think most people just say that but don't understand what goes into that

I'm sure ragging on trannies is fun for you

However imagine how valuable you would be to the world if the tokens I just sent you feed someone around the world or even yourself

You'd be a great human being. Even better a good human being

You think a community of circle jerk culture on hive will ever be seen in that light? I know you don't believe that

Hive community lives in a bubble only preaching to the converted lol

The rest of crypto laughs at hive doesn't take them serious

Take 5 minutes out of your day do something of value, important

Don't worry the trannies not going anywhere lol

I wouldn't weep too long because one day the world won't sit around looking for any solutions. You see how ugly the world gets in places like Nigeria @keke

Groups like Boko Haram or whatever they call themselves when they stop asking and next they remove heads from bodies and in the west we watch on the news nobody can do anything about it

These are what I call self correcting problems.

Same way Russia went forget diplomacy

They solved their problem and I'm quite sure the world will solve any problem it has. We may not like how it's solved but it will be

Even though you have all the money in the world to create hive, one thing you can't is a community and not just a community, I mean a die hard community

Unfortunately there isn't just that many of us that are truly die-hard. However, the few committed here have shown what true passion and belief in a project is, which is why I barely look at those other Hive clones

It would be virtually impossible to recreate what we have here as look what we have evolved from and continue to evolve and expand.

Am surprised some people don't see progress, maybe deliberately. We haven't been wrong so far with Hive and am certain this project will succeed

We often say that the community is what makes HIVE special. The reason this is true isn't so much that we all like each other's content. It's that when there is an attack from outside, like the big price swings of HBD, for example, we can communicate with each other and take action. This makes it much more difficult for outside influences to have lasting effect.

A clone would have to have that degree of network effect where users have the ability and willingness to act together. Clones generally start off with everybody rowing their own boat.
