Will Threads Work?

You have to give it to the leofinance community though. We are number one on Hive when it comes to generating hype. Every time the leofinance team announces a new project (and they tend to do so quite often), we jump on it and treat it like the next big thing. Sometimes we are sorely disappointed, but the expectations remain along with the enthusiasm.

I don't know if the launch of project Blanc will be the game changer that many community members feel it would, but am also jumping on the enthusiasm bandwagon for several reasons. You have to give it to the leofinance devs though for always giving us something to talk about. I'll explain why this project just might go big below.

Great Antecedents

Firstly, we are primed for the numbers. The team has launched projects targeted at making leofinance more user friendly and usable and Project Blanc is one of them. For instance, even opening a free Hive account is not an easy feat but the team has managed to pull it off so well. Furthermore, the launch of leomobile was another move geared at easing user experience which is a first of its kind on the Hive chain.

Reaching out to more people, especially those outside the core Hive community has been the number one focus for the team. An increase in the number of users can only spell good news for the project and the Hive chain by extension. Recognizing the fact that we need to take the bull by the horn in marketing is one major props I give to the leofinance team.

I have said it countlessly, I think leofinance is a remarkable project in the crypto World and would be one of the shining stars of the Hive chain. The problem though has always been about getting people to actually hear, see and make use of the product. I believe the more avenues we get to reach out to more people, the sooner we'd turn those mainstream dreams into reality.

User Retention

Another big problem on the Hive chain has been user retention. We have people who simply 'give up' after some time and abandon their Hive accounts. There are a variety of reasons people do this, and I often try to ask myself why someone will leave Hive and instead prefer to use mainstream social platforms which can so often be toxic and non-rewarding.

One thing I feel is that there might be a high cost of grabbing attention on Hive which people do not want to pay. There are certainly some fantastic writers on this chain who go unnoticed, and soon give up. The conversational style of threads makes it a lot easier to invest in the attention economy without putting in too much effort.

We can also pass our central ideas in a message without the need for 500 word articles which is pretty cool too. I read about 10 articles per day on Hive and Project Blanc will likely help more people become visible.

Conclusion

It certainly doesn't hurt to try when it comes to threads. The upsides are too good to overlook. The only potential drawback I can imagine at this time will be deciding what appropriate rewards a thread post should get and stemming abuse. That too will sort itself out as we progress. With that said I take my seat on the bandwagon.

I don't generate any content in the community as I feel unequipped to create the kind that gets attention here but with the threads, probably I can.

Technical and financial pieces are uneasy to write and especially on a subject we are yet to fully grasp but there is the occasional understanding and that is doable as a way to still be a part of the community.

Uneasy?...lol, definitely not as difficult as poetry and prose. Am glad you'd be coming on board the community though...It has really helped me grow within and outside Hive over the past year or so

threads in my opinion should play a vital role in onboarding new users on the platform. People these days tend to relate with short relay messages than bourgeois epistles so to say . Let’s keep our fingers crossed .

Only problem is potential abuse. Am sure there are those who are on guard to flag though
