Life in The Village is Fun

I was born and brought up in Akwanga Nasarawa state. Akwanga happens to be a developing area, left to me I would describe it as a village because it doesn't met the requirements to be qualified as a city. Most of the inhabitants are farmers and traders of Petty goods, besides that we have only few basic and social amenities.

My house is situated at the outskirts of the town. Akwanga is a small town dominates by the Mada people and few other tribes. Although it comprises of different tribes but we are governed by love. Since I was born till date, there has never been any dispute that lead to crisis between the tribes. We live in peace and Harmony

Life here is not the mind your business type, where by everyone doesn't bother about what happens to the person next door. Down here one man's cry is the cry of all. Whatever affects one person affects the rest.

We don't necessarily, need to purchase all the food stuffs we need, we are blessed with fertile soil. our lands yield very well, so instead of going to purchase food from the market we only buy some ingredients and use the ones we got from the farm. life is very simple and easy down here. Food, water, clothing are cheap here, the cost of living is very affordable.

It will surprise you to know that we don't have power problems here because our number is few therefore the pressure on power is less. I have been to some cities where everything you get is from your pocket, to get water you have to buy, to get urinate you have to pay and so many others. I appreciate God because everything down here is not so, why on Earth should I pay before I urinate ? That doesn't make sense at all except if it's a restricted area.

The issue of theft and insecurities is very less around here, stealing is not something that is too common around my side, instead of taking from others people work. I am not saying there are no thieves down here but it is not as it is in the cities. Down here a lot of crimes are not common, everyone is trying to survive .

Although we are faced with a lot of challenges as well, we all are aware that anything that has an advantage also have a disadvantage. There is high rate of unemployment, that is one of the reasons why many here are farmers. Most of them wouldn't farm if they were to be in cities where there are many job opportunities. Sometimes I wish I am in the city too because of this very issue.

If I Have a Chance Will I Change my Location?
My answer is yes! Though life down here is peaceful and cost less but it is very difficult. Most of our parents are either farmers or traders, they used all their resources to sponsor us in school so that we can assist them some day, unfortunately most of us didn't study agriculture or economics, we would have said we would think of other ways to improve their profession. So you find young people without jobs after school confused and looking for how to start life. Even if you get a job you will discover that the pay is usually very little with a lot of tasks. Moreover the common job here Is just teaching in private schools.

If I am given an opportunity I would love to move to the city so that I can get a better job to do inorder to support my family and to start up life. Life down here is fun but If only there were good jobs here for us to do, it would have been perfect.

Another thing is for exposure, there are a lot happening in the cities that are not in the village. Unless one goes out there he may not get those experiences. In fact part of the reason I would love to go to the city is to get exposed but not the wrong way. We may never know what is happening outside if we remain inside all through.

The city is always advanced, it is always double of whatever it is in the village, so whatever I am doing down here if I move to the city I will have an avenue to be best at it because I will be privileged to be in environment where I can meet those who are better than I am , I can improve by learning more. Life in the village is sweet but one needs to leave his/her comfort zone sometimes inorder to get into destiny.

Down here one man's cry is the cry of all.

That's what really makes us humans and makes life enjoyable... Getting able to rub each others back especially in times of need.

Great post man

Without that kind of oneness, life is something else. You sound like you live in an urban area😁😁

Yes village life is fun, just has you said, we seriously need to go to the city and get a correct job in order to put a smile on the face of our parents, for their efforts ooo, we can't continue living in the village forever.

Honestly, if we continue to stay in our comfort zones we might end up wasting time and energy than can be converted into something useful in the city that can generate income for us and our families.

Thank you for stopping by🙏💖💖

Both rural and urban areas have their advantages, but for me it's urban or no where else😅. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Cities are places of greater opportunity for us, as is the case with employment, and many people go to cities in search of a better life for their families.
I really liked your post.

There are really more opportunities in the cities for better living, though the cost of living is high but it's preferable.

I don't know how to say thank you enough for making such a wonderful contribution on my post🥰. Thank you for stopping by. 🙏🙏
