Yesterday I saw a random post on Facebook, it reads "dollar is now 1300," I love reading comments alot, so I scrolled down and I saw people replying "thank God, we pray it even drops to 500," yes , that's a beautiful prayer and a good wish for the country but what change has the fall in dollar to naira made in the prices of goods in the country? Nothing, there is just nothing to show for it.
Left to me, it is even making things worst because those who are struggling to survive and find their way to earn in dollar would be affected.
Both the government and the people are making things complicated, if fuel adds five Naira today, everyone would go and hike the price of good they have kept in the store for long as though they just got it. I know it's business but sometimes, I don't think it's right.
They said dollar is the problem, now it is falling but nothing is still happening, the prices of goods are still hiking. Funny enough, even if fuel falls to 400 per liter, some goods will never drop back to normal again.
Our sincere prayer is that a time will come when things like this stop.
