Books are wonderful and edifying. A wise man once said whosoever stops learning starts dying but I quote mine this way: whosoever stops reading starts dying. Over the years I have found no comfort any where than I have found in books. It is another weekend of ofcourse I won't go anywhere because I don't like outings. Therefore I would be stuck right inside my room with my door shut and guess what I would be doing? Studying

For this weekend I would be reading a book titled Smith Wigglesworth on the Holy Spirit the Author is Smith Wigglesworth. I have read many books but since I laid my hands on this one, my life has never remained the same. It is a spiritual book, written on the third person of the Trinity in person of the Holy Ghost. The book of is a Christian book and purposely published for edifying men and creating the consciousness of the Holy in the lives of men.
The Author has made it clear that as a believer, one has to be baptized in the Holy spirit for him or her to be able to effectively carry out the purposes of God in this world. The Holy spirit is God himself according to the the Author and has been right from the beginning and is also responsible for the creation of man kind.

The Author also said that the Holy spirit is that promise that Christ Jesus told his disciples would come from the Father but it is so unfortunate that men are not mindful of His presence. It is He who is responsible for the miracles, signs and wonders that is seen in the body of Christ which is the Church. The Author also reavealed for one to receive the baptism of the Holy spirit He must posses a childlike faith. Many have not been able to receive the Holy spirit because of disbelief. The Author also pointed out the difference between having the spirit of God and being baptized in the spirit, having the spirit of God means having God dweling in ones hearts and this results from the second birth experience popularly known as being born again. The later refers to being empowered by God which always comes with the evidence of speaking in tongues. So having the spirit of God and being baptized by the spirit of God are two different things entirely but given by thesame spirit.

The baptism of the Holy spirit and evidence of tongues is scriptural. The speaking in New tongues is the evidence that backs it up. Most people do not get what they want from God because they ask for many things. Ask for one thing per time and insist you must get it (the authors word). The presence of the tongues helps us to fellowship more effectively with God. Here is what the Author said "fellowship, purity, unity: these reflect a living cooperation in which we are being changed from faith to faith". He believes that a believer can not grow outside these things. The Author said his life has never remained the same since he had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and he was baptized when he was about forty years. Since then His life took a new dimension and he has advanced in his personal life and ministry work for God, he began seeing strange dimensions of God and miracles. The baptism of the Holy spirit is not water baptism, it is not immersion in water but a supernatural occurrencewith physical manifestation that makes the victim looks drunk and speaking in an unknown language that he himself does not comprehend. The manifestations might be accompanied by falling down and kicking but with time the manifestations stops, but the tongues continues. Speaking in tongues is for personal edification according to Author and believers should not criticize it for it is biblical and according to the plans of God. When John the Baptist said there is one who would come and baptize men with Fire He is referring to this experience. The Author said that, ever since he discovered that he has not gotten the baptism of the Holy spirit, He had to travel from his place to Sunderland and waited there even after many disappointments until he got baptized before his heart was eased. I have not yet finished the book but it is very rich. And I am planning to read it over and again .

Here's what I love about the book
I love the fact that the Author was so sincere and zealous that even at age Forty he could still be willing to chase what he desires and was willing never to give up until he laid his hands on it. That taught me a lot of lessons, firstly age is not a Barrier to becoming whatever we want to in life if we could persist long enough. Secondly we should always keep pride aside and learn new things when we discover that we are lagging behind. The Author discovered he was not baptized in the Holy spirit and he quickly adjusted and sought for it until he got it. Only God knows how long he has been without the Holy spirit and without the evidence of speaking in tongues he was blind like that until age Forty ideally if he was not a determined person he would have given up.

Why am I reading this particular book?
The reason why I am reading this book is because I want to grow spiritually while I grow physically. I want to really understand the concept behind spirituality. I am a Christian and I need to know who I serve. The Holy spirit is part of the God head and finding a book that talks about him is like an answerered prayer to me. He is mostly talked about in the Church today. The issue of speaking in unknown tongues in prevalent in the church today, I really want to know what is behind it and what it really does to men. So when I saw the book I was so eager to know the contents inside.
