Hello readers, hope you all had a wonderful day, mine was extremely exhaustive and fun🤭😅. today I will be sharing a post on my domestic rabbit farm, it has been a long time coming with a lot of planning and funding. this is the first time I will be writing a post about it. I guess this is to celebrate the newest member of of the rabbit colony also know as herd(a group of domestic rabbit), it is a female kit I call "trouble'😅.

As every child we all have this fantasy about something, mine has always been having a livestock farm of my own, this was made possible by my dad. few days ago I shared a post about our large farm that is situated at ikorodu but this one is situated in our compound because livestock such as rabbit needs a lot of monitoring especially when they are at the young age, there are a lot of reptiles and wild animals always trying to get in their cages and prey on them. so you have to keep there cage at a close watch.

Though I'm not there to monitor there progress 24/7 because I'm also a student undergoing my high national diploma at Ogun State and my rabbit farm is situated at ikorodu, Lagos state. so there is no way I could monitor them always by myself. I guess that is where my dad comes in, he helps me to keep them check when I'm not around. right now I have 13 Doe ( means female rabbit) and 10 buck ( means male rabbit) and presently 14 kittens ( means baby rabbit).

Rabbit are very cool to rear especially their funny looking ears, in a funny way you can always tell the difference when they are sad, their floppy ears are down usually when they are hungry or sick but when they are well fed, their floppy ears stand straight up and they have a way of communicating with each other with their ears especially during mating, they are very cute.

Rabbit are easy to manage in a way because they are vegetarians😅, their main source of food is vegetables, grass, fruit, pellets and hay. you have to make sure you their food balanced and always regulate their water to make sure they don't suffer from indigestion and you to make sure they done consume grass with poisonous insects or fluids or any plastic related object, it will result to twisted intestines.

They are self contained and peaceful creatures, they often shield themselves and the Doe are always protective of the kitten. though if you are going to keep a rabbit as a pet I will advise you go for the male because the females are always territorial and more destructive than the males. you can always easily tell the difference between the males and female rabbit because the females are always larger in size than their male counterparts of same age and the females are always the boss of the house not the males.

that's quite a number of rabbits and it's great you have your dad help out with them, also curious when you say livestock, like are they pets to breed and sell or... food? personally might find it hard to see them as such but i do hear they're served in other countries 😅 thank you for sharing about them!
