Meet my beautiful Calicuchima [ESP-ENG]

Saludos, preciada comunidad, espero todos estén bien, hoy estoy muy entusiasmada de poder presentarles a Calicuchima mi mascota, quien es parte de la familia y para mí es como mi hija, también voy a contar algunas anécdotas y travesías que juntas hemos recorrido en estos 3 preciosos años que ha llegado a mi vida.
Calicuchima llegó a casa cuando tenía 3 meses de nacer, es de raza caniche y fue adoptada. Debo confesarles que al inicio no estaba segura de aceptar tremenda responsabilidad, debido a que hace un tiempo atrás perdí una gatita, así que esto me dejó en depresión por un largo tiempo y desde aquel momento no quería una nueva mascota. Sin embargo, mi pareja fue quien insistió para adoptarla, y también él le puso el nombre de Calicuchima. Lo cual fue un lío para mí, porque es un nombre que jamás había escuchado y es más, no podía ni pronunciar, en fin él terminó ganando y se quedó así.
Su nombre es sinónimo de carcajadas cuando les presentó a mis amigos y vecinos. La verdad es que todos preguntan ¿Por qué ese nombre?, y la respuesta es que está inspirado en un emperador Inca.

La anterior familia de calicuchima no tenían los recursos para cuidar a sus mascotas, por ende sufrían de comida y poca atención. Tampoco podíamos adoptar a más perritos porque vivimos en un departamento, lo cual es muy complicado.
Desde el primer momento que Calicuchima llegó a nuestra vida se adaptó muy rápido, parecía que conociera a todos, por eso digo que fue la que nos eligió como su hogar. Su carita de bebe era una completa ternura cuando intentaba subirse a la cama y no podía, era como si dijera “ayuda, quiero estar ahí”. En una semana de entrenamiento ya raspaba la puerta para salir hacer sus necesidades y en caso de que nadie estuviera en casa, ella tenía su propio sitio.

Pasó el tiempo y a los 3 meses se enfermó de parvovirus, estuvo internada en la clínica durante una semana y los gastos salieron más que haberla comprado, para ser honestos cerca de los $200 dólares se gastó. Pero no importaba, nosotros hicimos lo que estaba a nuestro alcance para que salve y así fue. Recuerdo que en esos días le decía calicuchima no te puedes morir, aún falta que me acompañes en mis logros, pues el médico mencionó que muy pocas mascotas se salvan de ese virus.

Después de haber superado esta etapa, llegó el momento de la esterilización algo inevitable, no queríamos más mascotas. Tuve que dedicar tiempo a cuidarle después de la operación, le hice un gorrito de botella plástica, parecía un astronauta jiji. Había días en que iba a la finca, era otro trámite porque se hacía de pepas que hay en el monte, en esos momentos tenía ganas de dejarla en ese lugar para siempre, se imaginan en la lana que ella tiene sacar todas las pepas del monte. Cuando íbamos al río yo me metía al agua calicuchima pensaba que me estaba ahogando, y a ella que no le gusta bañarse se lanzaba a “rescatarme”.
A medida que crecía, dejó de ser tan juguetona y amable con cualquiera que se le acercara. Ya demostraba madurez, por ejemplo había ocasiones que alguien desconocido se acercaba a mí, comenzaba a gruñir, incluso cuando hay ratos de juego con mi pareja; calicuchima se interpone entre los dos, con el objetivo de defendernos, cree que estamos peleando, es increíble ver como ella se preocupa y ama a sus dueños. Cuando alguno de nosotros se va de viaje, suele pasar triste, a veces deja de comer, como si estuviera haciendo huelga.
Hace unas semanas llego una gatita a la casa, en realidad no la esperaba, pero el tiempo que se quedó calicuchima le enseñaba donde tenía que hacer sus necesidades, jugaban y dormían juntas, pero tristemente se fue de la casa hace unos días, pensamos que alguien se la robo, el asunto es que ahora está nuevamente sola. Reconozco que le hace falta compañía perruna, con el tiempo esperamos mudarnos a un lugar espacioso con un patio y poder adoptar nuevas mascotas.

Para ya terminar Calicuchima es una bendición y un regalo de Dios, mi compañera, mi ángel desde el día en que llegó, no quiero imaginarme el día en que me abandone de este mundo. Nos conocemos tanto que ella entiende cuando estoy triste, alegre, cuando tengo problemas, y de la misma manera únicamente con verla ya sé que es lo que quiere.
Durante el tiempo que ha estado conmigo, calicuchima me ha enseñado lo que es el verdadero amor, no importa lo que haga o sea. Sé qué tener mascotas conlleva mucha responsabilidad y tiempo, pero es una de las mejores inversiones que siempre serán recompensadas.

Calicuchima arrived home when she was 3 months old, she is a poodle breed and was adopted. I must confess that at the beginning I was not sure about accepting such a big responsibility, because some time ago I lost a kitten, so this left me in depression for a long time and from that moment on I did not want a new pet. However, my partner was the one who insisted to adopt her, and he also named her Calicuchima. Which was a mess for me, because it is a name that I had never heard and even more, I could not even pronounce it, in the end he ended up winning and it stayed that way.
His name is synonymous with laughter when he introduced me to my friends and neighbors. The truth is that everyone asks why that name, and the answer is that it is inspired by an Inca emperor.

The former family of calicuchima did not have the resources to take care of their pets, so they suffered from food and little attention. We also couldn't adopt more dogs because we live in an apartment, which is very complicated.
From the first moment Calicuchima came into our life she adapted very quickly, she seemed to know everyone, that's why I say she was the one who chose us as her home. Her little baby face was a complete tenderness when she tried to get on the bed and couldn't, it was as if she was saying "help, I want to be there". Within a week of training she was already scratching at the door to go outside to do her business and in case no one was home, she had her own place.

Time went by and after 3 months she got sick with parvovirus, she was in the clinic for a week and the expenses were more than having bought her, to be honest about $200 dollars was spent. But it didn't matter, we did what we could to save her and she did. I remember that in those days I told him calicuchima you can not die, I still need you to accompany me in my achievements, because the doctor mentioned that very few pets are saved from that virus.

After overcoming this stage, it was time for the sterilization, something inevitable, we didn't want more pets. I had to dedicate time to take care of him after the operation, I made him a plastic bottle cap, he looked like an astronaut jiji. There were days when I would go to the farm, it was a different procedure because she was made of seeds that are in the bush, in those moments I felt like leaving her in that place forever, you can imagine the wool she has to get all the seeds from the bush. When we went to the river I would go into the water calicuchima thought I was drowning, and she who does not like to bathe would jump in to "rescue" me.
As she grew up, she stopped being so playful and friendly with anyone who approached her. She was already showing maturity, for example there were times when someone unknown approached me, she started to growl, even when there are times of play with my partner; calicuchima gets between the two of us, in order to defend us, she thinks we are fighting, it's amazing to see how she cares and loves her owners. When one of us goes on a trip, she is usually sad, sometimes she stops eating, as if she were on strike.
A few weeks ago a new kitten came to the house, I didn't really expect her, but the time she stayed here calicuchima taught her where she had to do her needs, they played and slept together, but sadly she left the house a few days ago, we think someone stole her, the thing is that now she is alone again. I recognize that she needs some doggy companionship, eventually we hope to move to a spacious place with a yard and adopt new pets.

Finally, Calicuchima is a blessing and a gift from God, my companion, my angel since the day she arrived, I do not want to imagine the day she leaves this world. We know each other so well that she understands when I am sad, happy, when I have problems, and in the same way, just by seeing her, I know what she wants.
During the time she has been with me, calicuchima has taught me what true love is, no matter what I do or what I am. I know that having pets takes a lot of responsibility and time, but it is one of the best investments that will always be rewarded.
