Karla estaba sentada en el sofá pensando qué hacer en la tarde. Para distraerse un poco decidió hacer una manicura para sí misma. Tenía la mirada caída hacia las uñas, pero su mente estaba divagando. En casa siempre estaba sola, simplemente le acompañaba su mascota quien nunca se separaba de ella, iban a todas partes y cuando tocaba pasar en casa su perrita se aburría mucho.
— Cariño, vine para que vayamos a comer. Se escuchó una voz fuerte y masculina, afuera de su casa.
Karla abrió la puerta y dijo — Pasa Carlos, esta vez tengo ganas de comer una menestra con carne asada.
— Claro, lo que diga la reina. Él le dijo a ella.
Él le miraba por el reflejo de la ventana, mientras ella se maquillaba y se vestía para salir. Sonreía y suspiraba admirando la belleza de su querida.
—“Me temo que estás más callada de lo normal, sucede algo”. Él dijo.
“Recuerda que puedes contarme si tienes un problema, no me gusta verte preocupada. De cualquier manera ya encontraré la forma de hacerte sonreír” Él continuó.
—Dame un minuto, solo necesito ponerme los zapatos
Ella se echó un último retoque en los labios, y quiso combinar con el mismo color en sus zapatos. Mientras su novio revisaba su celular.
El asunto es que Karla no estaba bien, tenía un grave problema y no sabía cómo decirle a su novio, que estaba embarazada de dos meses. Sentía preocupación al saber cómo reaccionaría él ante semejante noticia. Apenas llevaban 2 años de noviazgo, todo iba bien, nada más que Carlos no intentaba formalizar la relación. Y esto justamente atemorizaba a Karla, pensaba que la noticia iba a presionar a Carlos a un compromiso o que en el peor de los casos él la termine dejando, pensaba en qué diría su familia al tener un hijo fuera del matrimonio. Además, que ella no tenía un trabajo fijo, por lo que le frustraba la idea de depender de su novio. Todo esto se interponía en los planes y sueños, lo último que esperaba era ser mamá.
Quizás hoy sea un buen momento para decirle. Pensó Karla
Se subieron al carro que les llevaría a un hermoso restaurante, estaba muy elegante para la ocasión. Karla por un momento se olvidó de los pensamientos que tenía y disfruto del sitio, había luces y carteles muy inspiradores en las paredes, además quienes trabajaban eran chefs.
Mientras esperaban que la comida llegue a la mesa, Carlos notó la mirada inquietante de su novia. Y rompió el silencio diciendo: “Me vas a decir que tienes”.
—No me pasa nada. Respondió ella.
—Veo que tienes la mirada preocupada, ni siquiera me has visto a los ojos desde que salimos de casa. Cuéntame qué es lo que tienes, confía en mi cariño. Le dijo él.
—“Sabes amor, me veo construyendo una familia contigo, quiero que lo nuestro sea algo para siempre, es decir, aún no tengo el trabajo que deseo, pero puedo mantenerte mientras encuentro otro trabajo”. Continuó él.
—¿Espera que? Creo que mejor lo diré ahora, estoy —
Embarazada, —interrumpió Carlos —Me confirmaron los papeles que pusiste en el velador de tu cama.
Ella se sonrojó. —Si lo sabías porque no dijiste nada.
—Lo más justo era que tú me lo dijeras, las mujeres son quienes dan esa noticia, lo iba a arruinar si yo hablaba. Además, ya lo venía sospechando, sé que tienes un atraso de dos meses con tres días exactamente, tú siempre seres exacta como reloj, venía contando los días, te conozco más de lo que crees cariño. No hay por qué preocuparse, esto me hace feliz, estamos juntos y mi mayor anhelo siempre fue ser padre. Por eso quiero que sepas que busque un departamento que esté cerca de la ciudad, para ahí construir nuestro nido de amor. Estoy muy seguro que ahí estaremos bien.
Las lágrimas rodaron por las mejillas de Karla.
—Te amo, gracias por hacerme tan feliz, no esperaba esto y tanto tiempo que pasé sufriendo.
—Yo también te amo, quiero que confíes en mí, nos tenemos el uno al otro.
—Ahora a celebrar que vamos a ser papás.
—Sí, es niña, yo elijo el nombre. Dijo él.
Ambos se rieron y se abrazaron.

Karla was sitting on the couch thinking about what to do in the afternoon. To distract herself a bit she decided to do a manicure for herself. She had her eyes down to her nails, but her mind was wandering. At home she was always alone, she was only accompanied by her pet who never left her side, they went everywhere and when it was time to spend at home her little dog got very bored.
—"Honey, he's coming over so we can go eat" a loud, masculine voice was heard outside her house.
Karla opened the door and said. —"Come in Carlos, this time I feel like eating a menestra with roast beef".
—"Sure, whatever the queen says." He said to her.
He looked at her through the reflection of the window, while she was putting on her makeup and getting dressed to go out. He smiled and sighed in admiration of his darling's beauty.
—"I'm afraid you're quieter than usual, something's going on." He said.
"Remember you can tell me if you have a problem, I don't like to see you worried. Anyway I'll find a way to make you smile." He continued.
—"Give me a minute, I just need to put on my shoes."
She put one last touch up on her lips, and wanted to match the same color on her shoes. While her boyfriend checked his cell phone.
The thing is that Karla was not well, she had a serious problem and did not know how to tell her boyfriend that she was two months pregnant. She was worried about how he would react to such news. They had only been dating for two years, everything was going well, but Carlos had not tried to formalize the relationship. And this frightened Karla, she thought that the news would pressure Carlos into a commitment or that in the worst case scenario he would end up leaving her, she thought about what her family would say about having a child out of wedlock. Also, that she didn't have a steady job, so she was frustrated at the thought of being dependent on her boyfriend. All of this got in the way of her plans and dreams, the last thing she expected was to be a mother.
"Maybe today would be a good time to tell him." Karla weighed
They got into the car that would take them to a beautiful restaurant, it was very elegant for the occasion. Karla for a moment forgot about the thoughts she had and enjoyed the place, there were lights and very inspiring posters on the walls, also those who worked there were chefs.
As they waited for the food to arrive at the table, Carlos noticed the uneasy look on his girlfriend's face. He broke the silence by saying, "You're going to tell me what's wrong with you".
—There's nothing wrong with me," she replied.
—You haven't even looked me in the eye since we left the house," he said. Tell me what's wrong with you, trust me honey". He told her.
—"You know love, I see myself building a family with you, I want us to be a forever thing, I mean, I don't have the job I want yet, but I can support you while I find another job." He continued.
—"Wait what? I think I'd better say it now, I'm —"
"pregnant," —Carlos interrupted —"I got confirmation from the papers you put on your bedside table."
She blushed. —"If you knew why didn't you say anything?"
—It was only fair that you told me, women are the ones who give that news, it would ruin it if I spoke. Besides, I've been suspecting it, I know you are two months and three days late exactly, you are always exact as clockwork, I've been counting the days, I know you better than you think, honey. There is no need to worry, this makes me happy, we are together and my greatest desire has always been to be a father. That's why I want you to know that I'm looking for an apartment near the city, so we can build our love nest there. I am very sure that we will be fine there".
Tears rolled down Karla's cheeks.
—I love you, thank you for making me so happy, I didn't expect this and I spent so much time in pain.
—"I love you too, I want you to trust me, we have each other."
—Now let's celebrate that we are going to be daddies.
—Yes, it's a girl, I choose the name," he said.
They both laughed and hugged each other.

Pensé en un final con el protagonista corriendo por el embarazo inesperado de su novia jaja 🙈, pero, creo que juzgué mal. Una historia sencilla pero elocuente, que nos permite suponer un final amargo, aunque con el amor prevalece... Y eso es algo bonito.

Si es bastante sencilla pero me llama la antención este tipo de mini historias.
