A small step back to normalcy
Is life returning to normal again? The other day, I went to the local Asian market. Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to see if my favorite instant rice noodles are in stock. Lo and behold, it was!
I was pretty excited and I looked like a maniac as I cleared the entire column of goods. The funny thing is, other Tung-I products were available during the span of last year's fiasco. I had assumed that the reason this particular rice noodle went out of stock was due to the pandemic. Upon further reflection, I guess there's more to the story.
Regardless, I was happy as a clam as I picked up some more items in the store. Like I mentioned at the beginning, it felt like life was returning to normal again.
Speaking of product shortages, some of you might remember when I put out a similar picture last year. Well, I'm happy to report that more things are returning to the shelves.
They aren't my usual go-to flavors, but I figured I would try them out after only having the original favors. I'm making a huge mistake as that haul will interfere with my fitness regime. So, I will apologize to @normie.fitness ahead of time. It looks like I will have a half-assed quarter when it comes to staying fit and not getting junky stuff. Yes, those stuff will last me at least 8-10 weeks.
For whatever reason, Lays decided that they want to go with their retro labels. I have never seen those before, so that was an experience in itself.
In the grand scheme of things, what I saw most likely doesn't matter. But, the feeling that things are inching towards normal is good. My state hasn't been as deranged as others when it came to restrictions and unrest. In fact, I've done pretty well in all other aspects of life minus the social this past year.
Here's to (hoping) life becoming normal again.
It was only for a short period but it is still top of mind. I often smile when I walk past huge piles of toilet paper.
Mtn Dew Major Melon? Ok. You do you 🤣
Yeah, toilet paper was a weird one. That was definitely not on the top of my list of grab now or never.
Never tried Major Melon, figured I would give it shot. It's all right. Nothing spectacular. I'm still more of a Voltage and Baja Blast guy.
Things are starting to get back to normal here too. I am glad you were able to find your noodles! I am wondering how things might change as stuff starts closing down again. We are starting to have a huge resurgence in cases. It is getting nuts again a bit.
I hope your state doesn’t try to close down again. It doesn’t do anything by this point.
If anything, they should be focusing on the vaccinations.
I think the governor finally relenting and opening things back up is what is causing all off the problems. She should have stuck to her guns even though it probably would have been political suicide. People are so stupid.
She's done some weird things. So, I don't blame people.
Like what? What has she done besides trying to keep people from dying? The way I see it she can't win. Someone is going to be a whiney little @!@#$!#$ no matter what she does. Like I said, people are dumb.
Not a tea person? Laying off the soda for tea and milk. Just mixing them instead of brewing because I'm barbaric.
I do drink green tea. That's a given.
