Bowl Season 2022

It's not easy to sit down and write about things around the Holidays. I find myself preparing for the end of the year. I often prefer to rest than to spend time being productive during downtime. As the year winds down, so does college football. Luckily, there will be no shortage of football games to entertain me. ESPN has a huge list of bowl games they are covering.

The New Mexico Bowl may not sound exciting, but I'm glad BYU made it with a winning record. It's too bad the Cougars will probably finish the season 8-5 or 7-6. It will be the last game for BYU as an independent team. The prospect of the Big 12 is exciting, but I also know the Cougars will face challenges in the seasons to come.

I may not be a fan of the Utes, but I think it will be interesting to see how Penn State fare against them. Being in the same division as Ohio State and Michigan makes it difficult for the Nittany Lions to appear like a formidable team.

The Rose Bowl is traditionally between the champions of the Big Ten and Pac-12. However, that has not been the case since the Big Ten champion has usually been a Playoff contender. If Utah cannot beat the third-best team in the Big Ten, then there's not much to say about the competitiveness of Pac-12 in the grand scheme.

Speaking of the Playoff, we have two Big Ten teams in the mix this year. I believe Georgia will dominate again. I would like to see TCU in the national championship game. Who knows? Ohio State might surprise everyone as they did that one year when they won as a fourth-seed, one-loss team.

There are other games to look check out during the Holidays. I will probably check out the Alabama-Kansas State and the Tennessee-Clemson game.

After those, it'll depend on whether I find NFL or college basketball more exciting. My NFL teams are doing great this season. I can't say the same for my college basketball teams.

I'd love to see TCU beat U of M. I think Georgia is just too good. No matter what happens, I think they will come out on top. I hope so anyway. The alternatives aren't that appealing except maybe TCU.
