Rancid- A Punk Rock Founding Band and my Rising Star Report 8/23/2023

Rancid is a Punk Rock band founded in California that helped bring Punk into the mainstream during its American heyday. The band is famous for the chaotic lyrics, guitar riffs and the influence of punk front men Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman. The band came out of Operation Ivy, which is a very influential punk band in its own right.

As a fan of Punk rock, I picked up the album And Our Come the Wolves when it was remastered in 1997. This album, along with the Greenday album Dookie and various Bad Religion tracks got me solidly into the Punk rock scene. I was a major fan, and the Grunge era that overlapped Punk also appealed to me. I grew up in the PNW on the west side of the United States, which was a grunge and punk hot spot. Many bands passed through the region, and Rancid held a special place in my heart at the time.

Punk contented with Grunge in the early 1990s, and Rancid was founded in 1991 in California where many famous bands got started during this time. Bands including Greenday, Bad Religion and The Offspring began during this time, and Rancid helped sponsor and inspire many performers who went on to greater things. I love the song Ruby Soho, and play it to this day, and the Rancid album And Out Come the Wolves has a number of other influential and memorable tunes on it.

My Rising Star Report 8/23/2023:

I have been glad to have made my way to the “Gig Circuit”, and am using the faucet to claim more Starbits. The game is captivating, and it is now apparent that I need more music lessons to reduce my ego, as the percentage has been steadily rising for days now. I plan on buying some more NFTs, and purchased 3-packs today without purchasing any individual NFTs. I want to focus on moving through the Gig Circuit and earning more Starbits so I can purchase more NFT packs and continue my faucet claim increases.
