Como muchos saben mi madre era oriunda de Madeira - Portugal, Ponta do Sol, mi padre de Funchal y de aquellos tiempos muy pero muy lejanos donde muchas mujeres se dedicaban al bordado y la costura, otros como mis abuelos al campo, mi papá trabajó como secretario del ejército y ellos me contaban muchas historias. De mi madre aprendí muchas cosas de costura y manualidades, me enseño muchos tipos de bordados, mi favorito es el punto de cruz y en bordado con estambre de los cuales se realizan en una tela muy especial que en mi país no hay, puede elaborarse en otras telas parecidas pero no queda igual.

Permítanme por favor honrar a mis ancestros y mostrarles un poco de las tantas cositas que mi madre me obsequió en vida y guardo como el más grande de los tesoros, es el legado que ella me dejó.

Estos son mis trabajos, bordado en estambre con una tela especial, y uno en punto de cruz que pude rescatar.

Estuviera escuchando a mi tía y mi madre: - !Plancha los pañitos! Están al revés. Qué lindas eran conmigo.

Mami y yo hicimos tres grandes obras, y digo grandes porque esos tres proyectos fueron los más grandes que hicimos juntas, tres cuadros de 1,5 metros de largo por 60 centímetros de alto, dos de ellos eran paisajes de navidad bordados con estambre y el otro, era una magnífica obra de arte de la sagrada cena. se enmarcaron en unos cuadros muy elegantes y mi madre los lucía en la sala, lamentablemente no tengo fotos para mostrar, unos vándalos los tomaron y los dañaron.

Pero me quedaron estos recuerdos que estoy mostrando con mucho amor y orgullo, me siento privilegiada por esto, es hermoso. Les enseño mis raíces, de dónde vienen mis talentos, no son nada en comparación con las manos de mi madrecita y aun aprendiz ella admiraba mi trabajo.

Luego de mostrarles esto, ahora por favor acompáñenme al paso a paso de esta forma de "bordar" que ella me enseño y la cual es muy fácil, lavable, duradera.

These are my works, embroidered in worsted with a special fabric, and one in cross stitch that I was able to rescue.

Mommy and I did three big works, and I say big because those three projects were the biggest we did together, three pictures of 1.5 meters long by 60 centimeters high, two of them were Christmas landscapes embroidered with yarn and the other was a magnificent work of art of the Holy Supper. They were framed in very elegant frames and my mother showed them off in the living room, unfortunately I have no pictures to show, some vandals took them and damaged them.


But I kept these memories that I am showing with much love and pride, I feel privileged for this, it is beautiful. I show you my roots, where my talents come from, they are nothing compared to the hands of my little mother and even as an apprentice she admired my work.


After showing you this, now please join me in the step by step of this way of "embroidery" that she taught me and which is very easy, washable, durable.

Toma la tela, escoge los motivos que vas a recortar y el número de piezas varía del tamaño que quieras hacer el centro de mesa o mantel.

Primero recorta las piezas y luego le das un acabado más preciso cortando los bordes.

First cut out the pieces and then give it a more precise finish by cutting the edges.

En este paso, aun sigo recortando las piezas minuciosamente por la orilla, respetando la forma de la flor.

Una vez recortada las piezas, en este caso usaré 6. Las ordenamos de una forma en cómo quedarían unas sobre de otras, formando la figura deseada, en este caso una imagen algo circular.

Ahora procedemos a usar el pegamento escolar, sí pega blanca. No temas que es lavable, puedes lavar la pieza después de pegada que no se despegará la tela, por supuesto que no se recomienda dejar en remojo, no tendrías ni por qué hacerlo.

Once the pieces are cut out, in this case I will use 6. We order them in a way how they would be one on top of the other, forming the desired figure, in this case a somewhat circular image.


Now we proceed to use the school glue, yes white glue. Do not be afraid that it is washable, you can wash the piece after glued that will not peel off the fabric, of course it is not recommended to soak, you would not even have to do it.

Coloca cinco piezas formando un círculo, dejas la flor mejor acabada para el centro.

Retira la flor central, con mucho cuidado comienza a aplicar pegamento en las flores que están unas sobre otras,

Place five pieces forming a circle, leaving the best finished flower for the center.


Remove the central flower and carefully start applying glue to the flowers that are on top of each other,

Step 5️⃣/ paso 5️⃣

Continúa aplicando el pegamento en las partes necesarias de la pieza para unirla.

Ahora coloca pegamento en la pieza central, no necesitas colocarle demasiada pega, tan solo lo normal, no es necesario brocha para esparcir. Pega esta pieza el resto de las otras en su parte frontal.

Deja secar un poco.

Toma el bordado líquido y comienza a bordear las flores, desde el centro hacia a fuera, bordea las puntas de terminación.

El bordado líquido protegerá la pieza que no se deshilache.

El pegamento evitará que se despeguen las flores.

Espero les guste mi lindo proyecto, recuerdo que mi madre hacía unos hermosos arreglos parecidos y hacía muy buenas ventas.
