¡Hola amados! Espero se encuentren bien.

Hace días compré un paquete de foami moldeable de varios colores, me sorprendió el costo 1,5 $ en 12 pequeños sobres, comparándolo con el costo de la masa flexible es una gran diferencia.

Es mi primera vez trabajando con este material, he visto a varios compañeros en Hive DIY que hacen figuras perfectas e increíbles de bellas, puedo decir que he aprendido un poco de sus consejos, pero me quedaron pequeñas interrogantes que me gustaría respondieran. Noté que el material no se endurece tanto como quisiera al secar y que si lo trabajo mucho con las manos se arruga, con la masa flexible podemos usar crema de manos para hidratar, pero con este material ignoro por completo. también noté que por mucho que haga una forma si vuelvo a tocarla pierde la forma rápidamente. ¿Algún consejo?

Estoy aprendiendo y explorando esto nuevo.

A few days ago I bought a pack of mouldable foam in various colours; I was surprised by the price – $1.50 for 12 small sachets. Compared to the cost of modelling clay, it’s a huge difference.

This is my first time working with this material. I’ve seen several fellow Hive DIY members making perfect, incredibly beautiful figures; I can say I’ve learnt a bit from their tips, but I’m still left with a few small questions I’d like answered. I’ve noticed that the material doesn’t harden as much as I’d like when it dries, and that if I work it too much with my hands, it gets creased. With modelling clay, we can use hand cream to moisturise, but with this material I’m completely in the dark. I’ve also noticed that no matter how much I shape it, if I touch it again it quickly loses its shape. Any advice?

I’m learning and exploring this new craft.

Como noté que el material es muy blando, he cortado trozos de alambre de floristería para darle mayor resistencia.

Con un óvalo hice la cabeza del gato y luego aplané un poco al frente.

Con las herramientas hice las cuencas de los ojos y pegué una pequeña nariz, en este paso me di cuenta que va perdiendo la forma, igual continué confiando en el proceso aunque me muestra una cara aterradora.

As I noticed that the material is very soft, I cut pieces of florist’s wire to make it stronger.

I shaped the cat’s head into an oval and then flattened the front a little.

Using my tools, I carved out the eye sockets and stuck on a little nose; at this stage, I realised it was starting to lose its shape, but I carried on trusting the process even though it was starting to look a bit scary.

Tomo un alambre y realizo un doblez, luego tomo un trozo de foami y doy forma de colita, de la misma forma hago las orejas con partiendo de la forma de un triángulo...

Confieso que no me estaba gustando como estaba quedando.

Luego pego las piezas al cuerpo del gatito y con una tira de foami color morado hago una bufanda.

I take a piece of wire and bend it, then I take a piece of foam and shape it into a little tail; in the same way, I make the ears, starting with a triangular shape...

I must admit I wasn’t happy with how it was turning out.

Then I stick the pieces onto the kitten’s body and use a strip of purple foam to make a scarf.

Los ojos me costaron mucho hacer, los quería grandes y expresivos, parece asustado...

Con cuidado no siga perdiendo la forma pego el aro de llavero al gatito y los bigotes. Con eso termino y lo dejo secar o que endurezca un poco.

I remember the moment you bought your first bike and then your second; I remember every moment, and you could never have known what would happen next. The steps all fell into place in such a way that it all seems like one big jigsaw puzzle. That’s life, we don’t know how what we do today influences tomorrow’s outcome, but it does, and you don’t know what the future will bring as a result of what you’re doing today. But if the universe aligns in such a way that everything works out perfectly, that’s a good sign that you’re on the right track.

No puedo darte consejos al respecto del material porque nunca lo he trabajado pero seguramente muchos aquí sabrán de ese detalle y como resolverlo. Lo que si te puedo decir es que el gatito me llamó y que tal vez esa mirada no es triste sino que está atento a lo lindo que quedó y que está abrigado para el frío. Además piensa en la utilidad que va a tener como llavero y que él a servido para que aprendas un nuevo material.
