Relato: Flor pálida. / Story: Pale flower.
Una pequeña flor, diferente a las demás fue negado el sustento para su crecimiento, solo por ser diferente, por ser la más hermosa en todo el campo florido y por irradiar bondad. La maleza se apoderó de ella, asfixiandola para que no creciera más. Todas la miraban, pues su bondad la hacía brillar. Un día el mal llegó, la mala hierba en su corazón creció y se asfixió.
A small flower, different from the others was denied sustenance for its growth, just because it was different, because it was the most beautiful in the whole flowery field and because it radiated goodness. The weeds took over, suffocating it so that it would not grow any more. Everyone looked at her, for her goodness made her shine. One day the evil came, the weed in her heart grew and suffocated.
Yo encontré esa pequeña flor.
I found that little flower.
Dime pequeña flor. ¿Quién a opacado tus vivos colores?.
¿Quién habrá robado tus sueños y ha roto tus ilusiones?.
Dime, ¿Quién te quitó la alegría de vivir?.
¿Quién te ha marchitado tanto y te ha vestido de gris?.
Tell me, little flower. Who has dulled your bright colors?
Who has stolen your dreams and broken your illusions?
Tell me, who took away your joy of life?
Who has withered you so much and dressed you in grey?
¿Quién ha propinado que caigan tus hojitas y poco a poco tus petalitos caen como lagrimitas?
¿Quién?.
¿Quién arruinó tu sonrisa, quién mató tu fe?.
Mírame, aquí estoy. Quiero verte florecer, ya no llores,
vuelve a ser lo que tanto admiré.
Who made your little leaves fall and little by little your little petalls fall like tears?
Who?
Who ruined your smile, who killed your faith?
Look at me, here I am. I want to see you blossom, don't cry anymore
it's back to what I admired so much.
Todas las flores del jardín se reían sin ningún fin.
All the flowers in the garden were laughing endlessly.

Finalmente la pequeña flor me respondió:
— El amor...
Contesté yo: —¿El amor te ha pisoteado?. También una vez amé y fui decepcionado. Por favor no mueras solo porque otro no supo ver en si tu belleza o por que alguien más le molestaba tu brillo y delicadeza. Cuidaré de ti y sanaré tus heridas.
Finally the little flower answered me:
— Was the love...
I answered: — Has love trampled you? I loved once too and was disappointed. Please do not die alone because someone else did not see your beauty or because someone else was bothered by your brilliance and delicacy. I will take care of you and heal your wounds.
Ella me pregunto: —¿Por qué?
Respondí: —Por que el verdadero amor no lastima.
She asked me: —Why?
I answered: — Because true love does not hurt.
Porque, feliz es aquel que gusta ver felices a los demás
y sabe discernir lo que está bien de lo que está mal,
sin buscar su beneficio propio.
Because, happy is the one who likes to see others happy
and knows how to discern right from wrong,
without seeking their own benefit.
