Algunos hidrantes que se unen a mi colección...

Algunos tenemos unos gustos extraños... Mientras muchos fotografían flores y paisajes, yo fotografío los hidrantes que consigo en mi caminata.
Recién vi una publicación de un Hiver que le encanta fotografiar lo que en mi país conocemos como "camiones cisterna o camiones tanque" él le llamó por el nombre conocido en su país que no recuerdo, fue un hecho muy curioso, así que extiendo la invitación a que compartas tus pasiones sin miedo.
Algo coincidimos el hiver y yo, son piezas de museo, son piezas de mucha historia, son dignas de fotografiar aun en su deterioro, ellas cuentan muchas historias que se han perdido con el tiempo...

Some of us have rather odd tastes… Whilst many people take photos of flowers and landscapes, I take photos of the fire hydrants I come across on my walks.
I recently saw a post by a user called Hiver who loves photographing what we in my country call ‘water tankers or tanker lorries’; he referred to them by the name used in his country, which I can’t recall. It was quite an interesting find, so I’d like to invite you to share your passions without hesitation.
Hiver and I do have one thing in common: these are museum pieces, they’re steeped in history, and they’re worth photographing even in their state of disrepair; they tell many stories that have been lost over time...

Hablando de historias perdidas... buscando datos sobre estos hidrantes... no hay registros de quién los colocó, cuando solo podemos decir: Dónde y eso es porque lo vemos.
Indagué más acerca de algunos que al menos están en lugares de entidades públicas y pues los registros se perdieron en incendios y catástrofes pasadas muchos años, pero muchos aos atrás cuando se usaba papel para registrarlos...

Speaking of lost histories… whilst looking for information about these fire hydrants… there are no records of who installed them; all we can say is: ‘Where?’, and that’s only because we can see them.
I looked into some of them a bit more – at least the ones located on public premises – and well, the records were lost in fires and disasters many years ago, back when paper was used to keep track of them...
I’ve looked into it further...

En edificios antiguos de mi ciudad, casi siempre tienen un hidrante cerca, en los más nuevos, no y esto es alarmante, pues quiere decir que no se tomaron medidas de prevención a desastres de incendios. Sin embargo los Bomberos cuentan con sus caminos sisterna.
Ahora... Si piensas que mi fijación es extraña, te cuento que no soy la única, pues recientemente vi en las redes sociales he conseguido a muchas personas que hacen lo mismo y en mi ciudad ¿Qué tal?
Hay personas que valoran estos objetos de la misma forma que yo, son piezas históricas, son más antiguos que nosotros.
Estas fotos fueron tomadas antes de los terremotos en mi país, ahora que veo el edificio está bastante deteriorado por los años, la humedad y la falta de mantenimiento... No sé cómo se encuentre ahora, espero que bien por el bien de quienes lo habitan.

In older buildings in my city, there’s almost always a fire hydrant nearby; in newer ones, there isn’t – and this is alarming, as it means that no fire safety measures were put in place. However, the fire brigade does have its own water tankers.
Now… If you think my obsession is strange, let me tell you that I’m not the only one – I’ve recently seen on social media that there are lots of people who do the same. What about in my town?
There are people who value these objects in the same way as I do; they’re historical artefacts, older than we are.
These photos were taken before the earthquakes in my country; now, when I look at the building, it’s quite dilapidated due to the passage of time, damp and a lack of maintenance… I don’t know what state it’s in now, but I hope it’s okay for the sake of those who live there.
