Leaves | Drawing with the Note 10+

I went to get mani-pedi today with both my parents. My mother got pedicure and yep, even my father did. While waiting, I got started on a new drawing. And this was it.

I really got into it especially when my the pedicure started, because it hurt. Drawing this wasn't quite the distraction, but at least it helped temper the urge to snatch either foot away when a toe started to bleed. At one point, the song Leaves by Ben&Ben ft. YoungK came up. Ah, such calming song.

So I was in a considerable progress when my manicure started.

And that meant I had to put down my pen and phone. There wasn't anything to half-distract me while the manicurist jabbed on my thin AF fingernails. She even said, "You've really thin fingernails and skin." By skin, she meant the skin surrounding my cuticle. And like a curse, a jinx, and just a very bad coincidence, my left index finger started bleeding like a bítch.

But, well, "tiis ganda," as we Filipinos like to call it. It's direct translation goes as, "to endure for beauty." I don't think I'll ever go mani-pedi afte this LMAO.

I'm getting out of topic, but the gist is, I didn't get to continue drawing until a few hours later, when the paint on my fingernails were considerably drier.

In sepia. Again.

I just really love it when a picture looks like it's doused in sepia. It's a running "theme" in my digital drawing collection since I started 2020. Today's a day I drew another one "in sepia."

I still ended up adjusting colors with Snapseed, except not as much as I did in previous drawings. I was significantly happier with my color choices this time. The lips was supposed to be a little more tinted, but I kept forgetting to work on it, and I was finding it difficult to find the right color.

Below is this drawing's progress GIF. At one point, I wasn't so sure it would turn out all right. Boy was I glad that it did.

Back to work tomorrow! I don't think I'm ever ready to get back. The weekend literally flew past, it's making me a little sad.
