Hello, dear Ladies of Hive! I hope you’re all doing great. We’re already at Community Contest #300—how wonderful! Congratulations to all the ladies and gentlemen who make up this community. The questions for this contest are from @nainaztengra and cover some truly magical topics.

As a child, which was your favorite Fairy Tale story and how much did you believe in it?

My favorite fairy tale was Snow White. I loved everything about the wicked stepmother and the magic mirror that told her year after year that she was the fairest in the land—until she wasn’t anymore, and her stepdaughter took her place, and that’s when everything got complicated. She even tried to kill her with the famous poisoned apple. I think it’s one of the most terrifying stories for a little girl to watch and read back then, but as a true Scorpio, I’ve always been drawn to these darker stories of envy and revenge.

I was also a fan of the dwarfs and the life Snow White created with them. I even liked the love story—about the prince who didn’t even know her, but just saw her sleeping, seemingly dead, and fell in love with her. You can tell it’s a fairy tale, hahaha, but when you’re little, you really do believe in all of this and the magic of love. I was always more of a fan of fairy tales that were a little darker, but still had a happy ending.

What is something you believed as a child that you later found out was not true?

When I was a kid, I thought adult life was much more interesting, and I wanted to grow up fast so I could experience it. I felt that childhood was okay, but at the same time, there was a lot of unnecessary drama. I had no idea that once I grew up, things would stay the same—or even get worse; I was so naive. But it’s not all bad—the good thing is that now I can go wherever I want without asking permission, and I can indulge myself without anyone telling me “no.” Still, adult life isn’t as interesting as I thought it would be. Adults don’t know everything; in fact, I even think they have fewer certainties than children, and that’s something to keep in mind. Of course, back then it was hard to know that—you get carried away by what you believe—and at the end of the day, it’s not like you grow up whenever you want to; it’s a process in its own right. I don’t feel like I rushed through that childhood stage; on the contrary, I think I stretched it out as long as I could, and that’s okay.

When we’re kids, we believe all sorts of things that make no sense. It’s only natural for us to be captivated by magic and believe in all kinds of stories we’re told. I was sure I might have some hidden power and be a witch, like Harry Potter. The good news is that it’s possible—though not in the way I thought. But no one can take that hope away from me, and if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that you have to keep believing in magic, no matter how old you are.

Snow white was not my favorite story but still I was fascinated by the dwarfs in the story, and would think wish I could see them in real.

We are lucky to have so many fairy tales; it’s hard to choose, but some resonate more than others as time goes by. The dwarfs were really likable—even Grumpy, haha. Cheers!

Sadly, not many of us have kept that sense of wonder when we grow older. But it's fascinating how easily we believed in things when we were children.

you have to keep believing in magic, no matter how old you are.

I love this. It's a good reminder to give in to our inner child more often.

I’m 33 years old, and I can say that I still surprise myself—which is a good thing. Every now and then, I let my inner child come out to play.
Thanks so much for stopping by to read. Cheers!

Like if only we had someone to hunt us as a child that adulthood isn't as easy as it looked to us and now that we know, time is irreversible
