A Fair For Deep Pockets

Two days ago I had a post about a craft market I visited this week. It was an interesting one and contrary to other fairs, this time I spent more than I was anticipating.

Not long ago I got a comment, that made me realize that not everyone understands the same way what a fair is here. These fairs are not like markets where you can buy cheaper products. The products you see here are limited series, most of them handmade and some even unique. Food and cosmetics are organic, therefore more expensive than what you can buy in the stores, shops and/or grocery stores. These fairs are organized exclusively for crafters, no industry participation is allowed. However, at this fair I saw one vendor that was selling cheap Chinese crap, which is definitely not something buyers are looking for.

This gentleman was the only jewelry seller and even though the offer was abundant, I took a photo and moved on. This is not my style and had no reason to waste time here.

The I spotted this paradise!!! 😍 Usually these places are the most dangerous for my wallet, but temptation is always high, so I stopped and looked around.

The variety they had here was absolutely mind blowing. Each type had several ingredients. So let me translate a few for you to see what I had to deal with, or resist to. Mint and chocolate, chamomile, aloe vera, olives, olives and algae, honey and propolis, chocolate. Now tell me honestly, how can you resist all that?

20221019_132342a.jpg

Here they had marigolds and oranges, lemon grass, lavender, yarrow tail, mango and avocado, berry and yogurt and so on.

After some thinking and negotiating with myself, I came home with these goodies. Starting from the bottom, olive with algea, mint and chocolate and chamomile at the top. These are 100g soap bars and one costs 2euro. A plus point for the vendor as he wrapped the soaps in a paper bag, so no plastic was used.

After coming home I had to try one out to see if it dries my skin as my main focus when choosing these was to pick those that are hydrating. So I chose to test the chamomile and can assure you that is heavenly good. so the 6euro was not a waste, although I only tested one.

Pickles, jams, syrups, vinegar and what you may find strange is the 5L bottle, in which there was rosehip juice, which is to make rosehip jam. Cleaning rosehip is a nasty job and this is why they are selling the juice.

Winter is coming.

20221019_131423a.jpg

I used to see these products at every fair. These are magnets and pendants made of recycled paper. Unfortunately not many were interested in buying any.

20221019_131451a.jpg

Key chains and some jewelry, none of these for my taste.

20221019_131541a.jpg

And there's no fair without gingerbread, however, these were not the usual ones I'm used to. These were simple, less decorated and dedicated more for children. One for 1euro.

20221019_131536a.jpg

Now, looking at them I regret not buying one. Although I can make my own at home :)

20221019_131559a.jpg

Some liquid for thirsty throats. Apple and berry brandy and syrups. Alcohol does not interest me but the syrups are always welcome, especially the healthy ones. Unfortunately the prices were not for any pocket.

20221019_131906a.jpg

Lavender again, which meant a faster pace for me, to get out of there.

20221019_131950a.jpg

This is the time for wine and must, so obviously these products can't be missing. 2euro 1L of wine, 1euro one glass of wine (400ml). No one was buying :)

20221019_132008a.jpg

For those of you who don't know how wine is made, this is the process. The liquid you see there is called must, which is then transformed in wine.

Another honey vendor, trying to sell those goodies.

20221019_132232a.jpg

Last, but not least, flowers. This is the time for autumn flowers, chrysanthemums and they had plenty there.

20221019_132238a.jpg

The purple flower is called Erika flower, in case you did not know :) I would have loved to have a pot of those, but the price... Paying 25euro for flowers is a bit too much.

Sooo, now comes the question, as always. What would have you bought from here?

There's something going on every day, no lack of events, you just have to have plenty of free time and money 😁

Talking about money, that's the toughest obstacle for me, if time is always there, but only money is the biggest problem for me😂😂😂

That is great fair and such variety of everything. The temptation is great to buy both sweet stuff but also cheese, I love them. I remember from our experience when we visiting such market we make sure that we have some cash, because you can't leave such place without buying anything. Towards winter there might be more selection for cold days too.
