Another Flower Parade And My Present

avatar
(Edited)

Let's do another flower parade, made of spring lowers as spring won't last forever either. I still have some photos left from the 1st of March, the day mărțișor is celebrated in Romania and from 8th of March. These are two days in March, when men are gifting flowers to women. So we usually have a flower market that lasts for a week or even more. That's paradise for me not only because I can take photos, but also for being able to enjoy all those wonderful flowers, after the gray and gloomy days.

The truth is, these markets are the only occasion to see so many flowers in the same place at once. Not even flower shops have as many as these markets.

You can also find all kinds of flower compositions, from small to big, like these on the photos above. Those baskets are definitely interesting.

Those who prefer a present that lasts, can choose from these paper compositions.

20230308_131852a1.jpg

These were shocking though. Not only kitschy, but also disrespectful t books. I could never create such thing or buy one.

20230308_131955a.jpg

I would rather prefer a pot of cyclamen wrapped in canvas. The more natural, the better, but that's just me.

Iris can't never be missing from such an event. Iris is an elegant flower, can't be compared to any other flower.

On the 8th of March I got a white hyacinth in one of those little red paper bags. It was very cute, till it lasted. The good thing about hyacinth is that you can save the bulb and plant it outside in October, to have some nice flowers in spring. So I saved it and going to give it to my dad to plant it in the garden.

Here I need to give you some instruction regarding how to watch this photo. What you see here is a very nice bouquet of tulips, which in fact is not a bouquet as they were selling these upon request. As far as I can see, there are 35 tulips here, maybe more, which means you would have been paid 35€ for a bouquet like that. That's a lot of money on flowers. I'm not saying there's no man who would pay that much (some pay even more), but only a few would do that.

Freesia, one of my favorite, who turned out to be a huge disappointment lately. As I mentioned in my previous post, when I was a little girl, we used to get freesia every year and smelled heavenly good. These you can buy today have no smell at all. So imagine my disappointment. Not to mention the price. This means people usually buy 3 or 5, and no way a bouquet like what you see on the photo.

An absolute beauty, if you ask me. I wonder how many bought 3 or 5 tulips, till they sold it all.

This photo was taken in 2019. When I saw these, it was like a magnet. I'm not an impulsive buyer and rarely happens to like something so much, but I felt like I must buy one (or more). So I bought one.

20230326_173937a.jpg

This one and I've been wearing it ever since. As soon as I got home, I regret it not buying more, but it was too late. I've been looking for the artist ever since and could not find it anywhere. Till now.

20230228_121654a.jpg

So I was able to spot the artist at the market this year. Imagine the smile on my face. These were the ones they had this year and could not decide which one to buy.

20230326_174054a.jpg

In the end I came home with these. It is made of clay and burnt after. If you look at mine, it looks like new even after 4 years, so I trust them. Looking at the offer they had in 2019, I could still pick one or two, so I'm going to keep my eyes open and see if I can catch them again. I was also thinking if I could create something similar at home. Most likely I could, just need to look into it, learn how it's done. Can't be rocket science.

I'm tagging @priyanarc here, she liked my last post, let's see what she says 😎.

Another doze of great visuals from miss @erikah ツ. I was trying to pick my favourite frame but as I keep on scrolling, I ended up loving almost all if them. But I love the Freesia more. Thanks for sharing, our eyes are blessed!

Freesia is a good choice. They had a lot of colors that day.

So many lovely flowers. The colorful and elegant look of each and every one of them is mindblowing. The shops must be so vibrant looking. I love the small cycle pots :)

The jewelry/ornaments you got are absolutely beautiful. I have some clay-made earrings, they sure last long.

Shops indeed are vibrant, you go in and you can't come out without buying some flowers.

I'm glad you like the jewelry I bought. I'm also glad to hear your earnings last long. That is good.

I buy fresh flowers mostly roses every 15 days. Considering my mental condition, I thought roses could help me to sleep and to relax and they do. Here, tulips are very popular and now they are all over the place. If I go outside, I will try to take photos of the flower shop and what they exactly sell. Tulips bouquet cost around 10-20 euros because a lot of tulips grow in the Netherlands. But for me, roses are cheap compared to tulips as they last long. 15 nice roses cost 4-5 euros.

This is a huge market with a lot of fresh flowers and many of them I don't even know. In Kharkiv, we had a huge tulip market and I guess I have a video highlighting the market.

Those pendents are gorgeous and really unique... By the way, I didn't like the flower arrangements in the book, it's kind of disrespectful toward a book just like you mentioned... I used to keep my favorite flower petals in the book as a memory and that's it...

Thank you for the mention :)

Flowers can bring you joy for sure. I remember a couple of years ago, when winter was already too long, I had enough of gloomy days and bought some flowers to cheer me up, although I have my indoor plants.

I'm glad you like the pendants, I was happy to find them. And I agree with you, it was disrespectful towards the books for sure. Pressing flowers in books or notebooks is a thing but ruining a book like that is disrespectful. I hope no one bought those :)

I love flowers and even more so if they are natural, in my garden I have many varieties and one of my favorites is the tulip, the flowers give us peace and tranquility and the aroma that they amaze is pleasant, many fragrances even come from them, greetings.

All the flowers and decorations are very pretty.

I just read that it is an ancient tradition. How amazing and cool that it has endured for so long.May traditions like these continue to be maintained!

Happy beginning of the week

Indeed, this tradition is still going on and it looks like will not fade away soon. Obviously over the years has suffered some transformations, but the intention that counts, so it'll live forever :)

Only this time I saw a flower parade like this, I couldn't even say anything looking at this beauty, just wow all I can say for all the flowers seen, and honestly I have never seen flowers like the ones you shared either, just some of them

You come from a different climate, therefore these flowers most likely are not traditional or are unknown there. You on the other hand have a lot of other flowers we don't have. Tropical flowers that here can only live inside due to tough winters. I'm glad you liked them.

Yes, I also think like that, many beautiful flowers choose to live in the cyclic they want

Flowers have something magnetic about them, maybe it's the colors, or their scent, but they bewitch you!
Even in Italy there are many village festivals dedicated to flowers and spring.
In a national park near Perugia, in Castelluccio di Norcia, there is a valley that has magnificent colors-the following photo gives you the size of the show!

No one can resist the beauty, that is a fact. How can you resist that view? Not to mention the scent. I know about those festivals in Italy, have seen quite a few in TV and I think they are wonderful.

The exhibition of flowers and jewelry is wonderful! I would like to buy one of these but it is hard to choose. By the way, the irises look great. For some reason it reminds me of a lily, but these are different things XD

Now you get my dilemma 😁.

For some reason it reminds me of a lily, but these are different things XD

I'm not sure if I've ever seen purple lilies, but there's a flower called German iris. My dad has a bunch in the front yard and when they bloom, it's a beauty to look at them and also to take some macro photos.

You have enlightened me a lot right now @erikah, I did some research on the internet and found out that the flower in our garden is actually not a lily but a purple iris, a German iris haha. Thank you very much. I love the smell and the look of this flower. It seems very elegant to me.
