Back To Minerals And Stones
Last weekend I went to the mineral and stones exhibition to take some photos and also look for some souvenir. I posted about my experience here. Today I'd like to show you more beauties you may have never seen.
Jewelry was what I was looking for and there it was. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, sets, of all colors, if you like this style.
While I was looking at these, was thinking if I could make my own jewelry. I used to do that years ago and was quite good at it, sold a lot, had a lot of orders, so technically would not be a problem. The problem is always the cost of materials and instead of going around trying to find what I need, I thought rather buy it here. But as you may already know, I only bought 3 bracelets.
These necklaces looked good, I loved the coral like ones, especially those with long stones standing out left and right, but red does not suit me, so ... I had to pass. Maybe if I can get my hands on some blue or other color.
those accessories in the box are what you need to make jewelry. I have a similar box, full of similar accessories, waiting for me to make something out of them, or sell them. I'm postponing the decision, but one nice day I have to do something with them.
These were elastic bracelets. It's more convenient to put them on as you don't have to bother with the lock, but I don't like my bracelets stick to my wrist, besides, these costed 3 times more. So why buy these? Last year a bracelet like this costed 15 ron, now it was 20 ron. Quite a surprise, isn't it? Last year a friend of mine bought 10 for himself :)
Amethyst, maybe amber, but I'm not sure about the latter. Once amber was very popular and highly valued but I suppose those times are over.
Minerals ready to be worn by those who like this type of jewelry. I was wondering how much time and experience is necessary to bring these minerals to the state you see them in. Whoever is making them is a master.
I liked the shape of these stones, but purple and me, we're not friends. The green one was cool though.
This was where I spotted a nice piece and thought it would worth buying it.
It was 9€ and what I loved the most was its rough surface and the layers visible on the stone. Initially I thought it was very interesting, but once I took it in my hand and turned it over, changed my mind and finally left without buying it.
At this point I was fed up with these boxes not being arranged nicely. So all my photos look bad but I could not start making order among the boxes.
At this point I gave up hope to find something that I really like, but then I saw those small beads. I love necklaces made of small beads. Too bad these were not something I like. You can ruin a nice necklace with one stone and those had several stones I did not like.
Good thing I did not like any of these as the prices were 😵.
There were a few I liked, but not enough to ask for a price.
Judged by the price, these were most likely encased in silver. Divide the number you see by 5 and you'll get the price in euro.
Same here.
Those on the top are Malachite and I loved them. The pattern of the stone is amazing.
Malachite is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral, with the formula Cu2CO3(OH)2. This opaque, green-banded mineral crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, and most often forms botryoidal, fibrous, or stalagmitic masses, in fractures and deep, underground spaces, where the water table and hydrothermal fluids provide the means for chemical precipitation. Individual crystals are rare, but occur as slender to acicular prisms. Pseudomorphs after more tabular or blocky azurite crystals also occur. source
I suppose the plate was also made of Malachite.
There were all kinds of figurines, for those who are collecting them.
Can you find yourself a ring here?
Or a pair of earrings?

All the jewelry stones are very beautiful. Full of interesting colors and patterns. I like the stones that are shaped like animals like turtles. It's very beautiful when displayed at home.
Yeah, those are nice to put them on your shelf. My cousin has some elephants and every time I visit I put the little one in front, to annoy my cousin 🤣
Wowwww what a beauty I love coral and jade are my favorites although I have clothes of many semi precise stones Erika, est reminds me of the stone market in Orlando florida USA that I have attended many times and I have bought beauties...thanks for sharing the nature of this staging.
I'm glad to hear it reminds you of something nice. The offer is usually huge at these markets so you most likely find something to buy, even if it's just a souvenir for someone else.
Is it 45k that I’m seeing on the stones or are eyes playing tricks with me?
If i understand you properly, 45k/5=8k Euros. That’s extremely expensive for some polished stones.
I don’t these stones but I know 8k euros and I know it’s way too much!
It's only 45, not 45k. I don't know how you can see 45k 😀
I’m yet to break my fast. Perhaps that’s why🤦🏿♂️

Some of these look great. I especially love the figures. If I'm ever there, I might pick one up as a souvenir. And the plate is also very nice. What's the price of this plate?
The plate had no price in a visible place, or I did not see any price tag but I would expect around 50€ at least, maybe even 80€. These are not cheap as I suppose it's done manually and any stone breaks. The problem with these plates is that you have to have a special place for them.
Thanks no thanks, I can buy a lot of plates with 80 euro 😂
Miser 😂
Oh this post is soooo dangerous! I love this stuff! That malachite plate must have been a pretty penny, that stuff is expensive. Mineral shows are awesome but with semi precious stones gaining popularity, it's been getting pretty expensive even for simple pieces, I'm glad I got it out of my system before it was expensive.
You will find your piece that is just right for you, just have to go to more rock shows! It will just come to you. They do have a good selection for all taste tho.
The animal carvings are cute especially the labradorite squirrel. The earrings too.
Thanks for sharing all this mineral goodness. xox
Lol, be glad you were not there 😂. Those big pieces, like the plate and some of the shells most likely were expensive, everyone was admiring them but not many were interested in buying though. If you have an inclination towards collecting them or just wearing them as jewelry, it can be dangerous for sure as there's always something new and something you don't have and you can end up spending more than you can afford.
This is the third one I visit, I think, but will be at the next one as well as it's interesting.
Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day 😀
Go to enough shows to pay for your piece in hive rock show posts while looking for your match!! I'm sure a lot of ppl like to just look at this stuff even without a collector's interest.
be glad you were not there No doubt!! I always come out with way too much money spent. I should take a pics of my collection one of these days and make a post. Running out of room to display so I'm more into the jewelry now cause it's smaller to store. I have a cool thick second hand silver chain I was looking for a pendant for it. Not sure what I want but like you on the hunt but not really finding "my piece" yet. Gem cut ametrine or a nice larimar slab, they don't come cheap especially set in silver.
When things are too expensive it does tend to just get admirers not buyers. That plate would probably be like $300-$400 CAD or more, a bit rich for my blood too, at least for a plate. There is this cool giant jade bear displayed in a shop in the rockies but it was like 1 million $$, so it's probably still there a few years later but everyone likes to take selfies with it.
