Oldtimers

Today I bumped into an old car exhibition. I'm not a huge old car fan, but as a photographer I could not miss the chance to do a photo shoot and capture some beautiful pieces. So today I'd like to share some interesting pieces with you.

Let's start with an old Lincoln Continental, which may be usual in the US, but here it is a rarity. I've seen a lot of cars like this in the movies, but never in real life. Till now of course.

Another Continental, different color though.

While I was taking the photo, I was wondering how it is like to drive a Continental like that on these roads. These are pretty long cars, not something you see here on a daily bases.

This is a Fiat, also an old one. When I look at it, it reminds me of the war period as that's when these kind of cars were in use.

What I loved about these cars was that all of them were in an excellent condition, regardless of their age. These oldtimer owners are taking good care of them, which is obviously a must. These cars are not cheap and as time passes the price can only go up, so maintenance is a must if you want to protect your investment.

Another Fiat, a different one though. These were very popular a few decades ago.

Look at the size of it 😁, it's so tiny!

IMG_20211009_111905a.jpg

And another Fiat! It's actually funny to see the same make and so many models.

Lol, can you guess what make is this? A Fiat, what else? 😆

For those of you who know nothing about Fiat:

Fiat Automobiles S.p.A. is an Italian automobile manufacturer, formerly part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and since 2021 a subsidiary of Stellantis through Italian factory FCA Italy. Fiat Automobiles was formed in January 2007 when Fiat S.p.A. reorganized its automobile business, and traces its history back to 1899 when the first Fiat automobile, the Fiat 4 HP, was produced. source

Don't laugh as I have to confess, I had no idea what king of car this is but after some investigation it turns out it's a Trans Am GT Pontiac, which was available only in 1994.

Next is this red Ford, which is quite funny. I bet it wasn't funny back in the day.

It was fun to roam around these old cars and in fact take trip back in time. I can't look at them and not imagine how life must have been back in those days. I bet all these cars are refurbished, restored to the original condition but upgraded as well as I saw the seats in one were brand new.

The other thing I keep thinking of how safety must have been, of how safety was lacked those days. Seat belts, airbags were not known yet and seats had no head rests.

Stay tuned for the next episode as I have more photos of interesting cars, other makes like Mercedes and homemade ones.

Funny as my mom had that model Fiat in Rhodesia (photo 11) and FIAT stood for fix it and troubles as they had sanctions in those days and no pares were available. Nice collection of cars and an interesting read.

Thank you! I guess these cars were quite popular and widespread. Not here though as those were pretty tough days. I'm going to write about it in my next post. It's going to be interesting.

Great cars...the Fiat 500, the lil white one, used to be the family car of my bf. They drove several times a year from Germany to Barcelona with the whole fam. Imagine that trip these days lol. Oh and not sure if you know, but I could swear it's a Trabant next to the Fiat Spider, the blue one.

Lol, you have a good eye for the details. Wait for my next car post.

Yes, those Fiat 500's were popular but a family traveling abroad in it.... 🤦🤦🤦🤦

Different times I guess, back in the 80s it was slow travel, less traffic and smaller trucks on the road 😄 . The 500 Nuovo is so damn cute, makes me wanna have one just because I think my Bulldog would look super cute in it 😂 .

Wait for my next car post.

Well, now you got me curious...and following so I don't miss out on it.

You have to crop that green gold Mustang beside that red black Fiat otherwise petrolheads will hunt you for life for not dedicating a bunch of images on her 🙂 Such a sexy classic - my most favourite from the ones pictured.
P.S. Trans Am's number stayed uncensored in one of the two shots.

Some awesome cars here! Shocked to see an American Pontiac car among the mix that’s for sure!

Fiat is a popular brand it seems, but for good reason. Inexpensive and pretty good cars!
