It was his choice to make it available for free for everyone. I chose to support him by upvoting his posts, so he can pay the server. Things could have gone differently and it's a shame we don't have him on hive.

For sure. We all make choices in life and sometimes they are the right ones and sometimes, a do-over would be nice.
I supported him automatically and I sure wish he had come, but, as you said, he chose to stay. I wish him well.
