Thoughts And Plans For 2024

avatar

A New Year started a few days ago and it's time to write down a few thoughts in my blockchain diary. I hate new year resolutions because I think most of the people set them up because that is the trend, then forget about them, or they are just too weak to carry them out and all those fancy words get forgotten after a month or two. Instead of this fancy word, I like to call the list plan, do everything I can and stick to it, no matter what.

Today I'd like to share a few thoughts about what I'm planing for 2024.

Health, Before Anything Else

It's funny how we tend to think nothing can break or damage us because we're indestructible. This starts at the early stage of life usually and this is the period when most of the self-abuse and damage is done to the body, mostly because the immediate consequences are minimal or visible only later. Some realize they are on the wrong path pretty fast but there are quite many living in denial, till it's too late for them.

20231220_161602a.jpg

I'm not an exception either, unfortunately, why would I be? Although I'm not a hardcore abuser of anything, have never been one and I want to keep it that way, but there are still things I need to change in my life. Better now than later.

One of them is eating healthier and losing some weight. The two are connected, there's not one without the other.

The most important thing I want to change is my eating habits and diet. I started the process last year and things went well for two or three months, then I lost focus in December and most likely my weakness canceled all my progress. It hurts to lose the advantage I had and be back to square one, but as there's no turning back and changing the past, the only thing I can do now is focus on the future and make better choices from now on.

20231220_161523a.jpg

Another aspect of life I need to bring improvement to is sleep quality. It feels like this is an area that I need to work on, because it can bring several life quality improvements if it's done right, but it can cause a lot of damage as well, if neglected.

Being able to find a solution to your problems, without involving any drugs or doctors is not easy at all, but it's a huge win if you can pull it off. I'm working on adjusting my schedule in a way that I can get the necessary sleep, when it is necessary and not let anything to chance. Respecting a strict schedule is neither easy, nor fun, but it is a must if I want to be able to manage this on my own.

20231220_161613a.jpg

In my line of work, being half a sleep or not having a sharp mind can cost you quite a lot and struggling to focus is not fun at all. In theory, I know what to do, I just need to make the necessary adjustments to carry my plan out.

Invest In My Education

This is not something new to me. Have been doing it since I graduated from high school and think I will stop on the day I close my eyes forever and not sooner. Life is constantly changing, technology is evolving with breakneck speed, so neglecting education is like gluing yourself in one place for life. I don't condemn anyone for doing that, but that's not an option for me.

20231220_161512a.jpg

You make your own luck in my opinion and watching movies or playing video games is not the way to get where you want in life. It comes with a price though as there are a lot of sacrifices to be made but the end result will compensate you for everything.

I've been lucky to meet professionals and make good connections that can help me advance in the right direction and I intend to use this to my advantage. There's a revolution going on in finance, in a few years this sector will look totally different and those who are evolving will have a huge advantage, versus those who are not prepared for what's coming.

Education has always been a priority for me and I see the results of not staying idle for years. Those who called me stupid years ago for paying and attending different courses are calling me lucky now :) What did I say two paragraphs above about luck? It's ok though, no worries, I'm not gunning for anyone's approval, I'm doing it for myself and not trying to fit the mood and the expectations of anyone.

Learning Better Time Management

This is maybe the toughest one on my list, but just as important as the first two, or maybe even more important. If I can create a balance between the time available and the tasks I have each day, work more efficiently, the outcome will be better.

When I was at the university, I always said, I wish the day would have 48 hours just for me, or I wish I could stop the time, freeze life for everyone else, but me, for like 48 hours, to catch up with things and gain some advantage. Obviously this is not possible, so the only solution I have is make better, smarter choices and manage my time better. How? That's the big question!

There's no formula to follow here as we all have different lives, so I need to figure out what works for me. Failing is not an option here.

Do you have any special plans for 2024? Let me know in a comment.

You are very right. it's very easy to make new year resolution but working to achieve the new year resolution is the big deal. The most challenge aspect is time management, we don't have more than 24 hours daily, its important to maximize our time.

I set up my new year resolution in my journal and filled everything on the first day of the year. I'm happy to open my notebook and fill in the second day. Having a journal helps. :D

I see. It's okay. I never used journals back then for New Year's resolutions and I don't usually have one. It's just now I decided to write everything as I am very forgetful nowadays after having kids.

Health, Before Anything Else

This drives everything. Gotta be healthy to take advantage of your education and not being healthy enough to participate makes time management not relevant. My goals are all around health this year. Happy New Year and good luck on accomplishing your list plan.

I recognize thos a lot. Time management...organizing and structure better helps, but at some point you need to look at your tasks again. I might be the amount of work and tasks. Do you really need to do all this? It can threathen your health as well. Since 2 years health is on top of the list here, although it's hard to focus on it constantly and not falling back into old habbits.

I agree with you on that. Time management means reorganizing tasks, prioritizing and revising them as well.

Old habits can be difficult to drop, but if I want results, it's the only way.

Only realistic plans can work in my opinion. Setting up unrealistic plans is a waste of time and energy.

It's funny how we tend to think nothing can break or damage us because we're indestructible.

This struck a nerve 🤧. LOL. I abused my digestive system without a care in the world because hey, I can sleep it off and be fine on the moro. I didn't know any better then, I do now. But that's the only thing I abused. Others, I just didn't care. Now imagine the shock I had when I found pimples on my formerly-perfect face, when I turned 25, LOL. Now I know skincare isn't for the weak. XD

No new goals for the new year, except for dividing my time well. Like you, I'm learning better time management. I hope we get there. 😁

If God keeps me, '25 would be a super hectic year with plans and achievements. 💃🏾

See you around. 🌻

I think we have all abused our body and health at some point to some extent it's just that some don't care to admit. The good thing is when you finally wake up to reality and do the right thing.

Good luck with your plans :)

I think it's never too late to add to those plans, if necessary. Especially now, as only 3 days passed since the beginning of the year.

Happy New Year to you too.

I have many plans for 2024 including my growth path on Hive and in my real life I have some goals similar to yours because for example I would like to lose some weight and get in shape.
I enjoyed reading about your most important goal because since becoming a father I have matured almost an obsession with time management because having more free time to devote to my daughter has become my life goal.

I wish you to achieve all your goals and have more time to sleep in this 2024

Off topic: I don't know if you remember but some time ago I asked you for advice about a tutorial I wanted to write on Hive to help new users and you said I could tag you or contact you for opinions and advice. In 2024 I would like to write several posts to help users new to Hive that I would then like to collect into one post with an index. Today I wrote a post about Dust votes and in which I also put some advice based on my experience on Hive.
Only if you like and only if you have time I would love to have your opinion and advice and criticism are always welcome for me and will help me to write my next posts and tutorials better.

I'm glad to hear you have similar pland in the new year. I think it's normal to have these plans or goals as these are normal and beneficial ones for everyone.

I also wish you achieve your goals and make your life better. Having more time with your daughter is crucial.

Off topic: of course I remember, I've been thinking about you and those plans and been meaning to ask you if I've missed those posts, but this crazy everyday's rush is a real thing.

Thanks for dropping me the link. I'm going to read it and get back to you on it with my opinion.

Happy New Year my friend 😊

I've read your post and I must admit, you did an excellent job. Detailed explanation and useful tips. Well done! I'm looking forward to your next one and including this to my newbie guide series, with the necessary mention, of course. I bet many have no idea about these things.

Yes as someone who "sets new year resolutions because that is a trend" myself I totally agree with you.

It is easy to make them but is hard to achieve them. But this year I'll definitely work harder and not slack off anymore. Anyway such a great blog do continue your work and share more with us in the future. Have a great day!

I wish people would take it seriously and not just set them because that's the trend. Anyway, those who want change, will do everything in their power to get results.
