Glass or cup?

What is more appropriate? Glass of water or cup of water? It depends, of course.

First of all, is water cold or hot? Glass is more suitable for cold beverages, cup is better if your drink is hot. Especially if cup has a handle.

Then there is personal preference. Many people love drinking from ceramic cups because material adds to the occasion of drinking. Glass is plain, cup is special. Maybe.

Any other distinctive ways your could compare or decide which container is your preferred type? What would you choose?

My choices are:

  • glass for anything cold - beer, wine, soft drinks, juices, ...

  • cup for coffee and tea

Although, I do drink hot water every morning - from glass. Next on menu is cup of coffee, usually.

So, cups are important part of my life. Who would have thought that.

That point about the hanDLe saving fingers really landed, because hot tea needs that safety.
Tea in a glass is risky, it burns fingers and the grip slips, while a cup lets you sip calm :)
As someone who fuels long number sessions, a sturdy cup just works. It make sense and my spreadsheets agree.

Haha, hot indeed. I dont think there is a !TEA bot yet, your right that !BEER is the classic. We could start a ch;ai crew and fuel long sessions with coFFee too, sounds fun :) What do you use most when you need that warm cup vibe?

Plain and simple instant cappuccino - be it with chocolate flavor or Irish or ...

The second option is Turkish coffee "baked" in original džezva (cezve) from Sarajevo.

usually a strong filter coffee with milk, in a ceramiic cup with a chunky handle :)
If i'm lazy, instant cappuccino works too, chocolate flavor is my weak spot' .
Turkish in a small cup is nice, I keep it less sweet and sip sloow to dodge the grounds.

That take on glass vs cup was on point, and the handle love makes sense for me too.
I'm still team sturdy cup for long sips; glass is cool for chilled stuff.
You two more into cups for hot water too, or you switch?
