El día que fuimos a la ciudad de Maracaibo para hacer las compras para el evento que estábamos por realizar, Convinarte, tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar muchos sitios.
Anteriormente les comenté que estuvimos de paso por el centro de artes Lía Bermúdez, que está ubicado al final de una icónica plaza de la ciudad, la plaza Baralt.
Este punto hace muchos años fue donde nació el comercio de la ciudad ya que esta ubicado frente al puerto. Muchos de los viejos edificios se conservan, y la que realza por encima de todo es la iglesia San Francisco de Asis, que funcionaba anteriormente como un convento.

The day we went to the city of Maracaibo to shop for the event we were about to do, Convinarte, we had the opportunity to visit many places.
Previously I told you that we were passing by the Lía Bermúdez arts center, which is located at the end of an iconic square of the city, the Baralt square.
This spot many years ago was the birthplace of the city's commerce since it is located in front of the port. Many of the old buildings are preserved, and the one that stands out above all is the church San Francisco de Asis, which formerly functioned as a convent.
Frente a la iglesia está un monumento de Rafael María Baralt, personaje por el que se le otorgó el nombre a dicha plaza, que ha sufrido cambios con el pasar de las décadas.
La iglesia es pequeña, pero con estructura firme. Según lo que leí al respecto, tiene unos 400 años de antigüedad. No pudimos entrar porque en el momento que pasamos por ahí estábamos realmente agotadas y nos encontrábamos en la búsqueda de comida.
Aunque me hubiera gustado ver su interior y apreciar un poco más los detalles.
In front of the church is a monument to Rafael María Baralt, the person after whom the plaza was named, which has undergone changes over the decades.
The church is small, but with a firm structure. According to what I read about it, it is about 400 years old. We were not able to go inside because by the time we passed by we were really exhausted and were in search of food.
I would have liked to see inside and appreciate the details a bit more though.
En la plaza también se encuentran dos esculturas enormes llamadas "los atlantes". Recuerdo la primera vez que los vi, mi papá me llevó al Lía Bermúdez y luego me hizo recorrer esta plaza para mostrármelos.
Los estructuras enormes hechas de mármol y según mi investigación el próximo año cumplen 100 años. Imagino que por ser íconos de la ciudad irán a hacer alguna actividad especial o al menos darles su respectivo mantenimiento porque aunque se conservan bien, las bases y el edificio en general esta manchado y vandalizado.
Las fotos no fueron las mejores por lo que les comenté antes, sobre todo en la que salgo yo 😂, pero vaya, son recuerdos, no queda de otra pues no se cuando vaya nuevamente hasta allá.
Prometo en la próxima visita hacerles fotos más detalladas y visitar el interior de la iglesia.
In the square there are also two huge sculptures called "the Atlanteans". I remember the first time I saw them, my dad took me to the Lía Bermúdez and then made me walk around this plaza to show them to me.
They are huge structures made of marble and according to my research they will be 100 years old next year. I imagine that because they are icons of the city they will be doing some special activity or at least give them their respective maintenance because although they are well preserved, the bases and the building in general is stained and vandalized.
The photos were not the best because of what I told you before, especially the one of me 😂, but well, they are memories, there is no other choice because I don't know when I will go there again.
I promise on the next visit to take more detailed photos and visit the inside of the church.
De ahí nos fuimos a una tienda que visitamos previamente para comprar los desechables que usaríamos en el evento. No encontramos un mejor precio en otras tiendas así que nos decidimos por hacer la compra ahí.
Habían muchísimas cosas y el espacio era súper reducido. Esto entorpecía un poco con la movilidad y más cuando entraban otras personas a la tienda.
From there we went to a store that we visited previously to buy the disposables that we would use in the event. We didn't find a better price in other stores so we decided to shop there.
There were a lot of things and the space was very small. This made it a little difficult to move around and even more so when other people entered the store.
En el proceso me encontré con unos vasos tipo domo, que me servían perfectamente para un pequeño emprendimiento que tengo en mente. Estos salían muchísimo más económicos que en mi ciudad, donde con el costo apenas te compras 3 de estos vasos.
Hicimos una pequeña fila para pagar y así luego facturamos todo.
In the process I found some dome glasses, which were perfect for a small project I have in mind. These were much cheaper than in my city, where the cost is only enough to buy 3 of these glasses.
We made a small line to pay and then we billed everything.
Al final de nuestro recorrido por la ciudad, pasamos por una tienda que había visto por Instagram. Sabía que en ella íbamos a encontrar el pegamento y los pinceles que no habíamos encontrado hasta ahora.
Aproveché de ver los productos que promocionaban y habían captado mi atención. Es mejor ver las cosas en persona porque muchos de ellos se veían enormes en las fotografías y a lo que me los enseñaban eran una decepción total 😂.
Mi compañera pagó los materiales y yo aparte aproveché de comprar un paquete de acuarelas que fue lo único que me pareció tener buen precio y tamaño.
Así luego tomamos el transporte de regreso a casa. Maracaibo tiene mucho que ofrecer, lastimosamente no contamos siempre con el dinero para los pasajes y el tiempo para recorrer todas sus calles y tiendas, pero vale mucho la pena y más cuando tiene ya en mente lo que vas a comprar.
Espero volver pronto y comprar muchas más cosas. ♥
At the end of our tour of the city, we stopped by a store I had seen on Instagram. I knew we were going to find the glue and brushes we hadn't found so far.
I took the opportunity to see the products they were promoting and they had caught my attention. It's better to see things in person because many of them looked huge in the pictures and what they showed them to me were a total disappointment 😂.
My partner paid for the materials and I took the opportunity to buy a pack of watercolors which was the only thing that seemed to be a good price and size.
Then we took the transportation back home. Maracaibo has a lot to offer, unfortunately we do not always have the money for the tickets and the time to visit all its streets and stores, but it is worth it and even more when you already have in mind what you are going to buy.
I hope to come back soon and buy many more things. ♥
