Una visita al centro comercial Costa Mall (+Opinión) || A visit to the Costa Mall (+Opinion)
¡Hola Chicos!
Hace poco estuve de pasada por este centro comercial, el cual esta ubicado en la costa oriental del lago de Maracaibo (COL). Mi paso fue breve porque estaba haciendo tiempo para luego ir a un taller donde había enviado a reparar algo de nuestro aire (esto lo he mencionado anteriormente en otros post).
Mi idea era pasar el rato, evaluar algunos precios para futuras compras y documentar para mi blog lo que me encontrara, pero la verdad me llevé muchas impresiones, no del todo buenas.
Este centro comercial tiene ya varios años, recientemente cumplieron 9 años y siento que a medida que pasa el tiempo ha ido en decadencia al menos en la vida diurna, que es cuando yo suelo visitarlo.
Al principio habían muchos locales funcionando y se esperaba que abrienran muchos otros, pero con el tiempo estos han ido "quebrando", por decirlo de algún modo. Fueron cerrando sus puertas y mudándose a otros sitios, o simplemente cerraron sus sucursales por completo en la ciudad.

I was recently passing by this shopping centre, which is located on the eastern shore of Lake Maracaibo (COL). My passage was brief because I was making time to then go to a workshop where I had sent to repair some of our air (I have mentioned this before in other posts).
My idea was to hang out, evaluate some prices for future purchases and document for my blog what I found, but the truth is that I got a lot of impressions, not all of them good.
This mall has been around for several years now, it recently turned 9 years old and I feel that as time goes by it has been in decline, at least in the daytime, which is when I usually visit it.
In the beginning there were many places in operation and many others were expected to open, but over time they have been "going out of business", so to speak. They closed their doors and moved to other locations, or simply closed their branches completely in the city.
Yo lo visito una vez al mes cuando me toca hacer diligencias en el banco y cada vez que voy encuentro un local menos, cada vez menos gente, menos cosas para disfrutar.
Yo sigo las redes del centro comercial y he visto como han habido muchas aperturas de locales de entretenimiento, ropa y venta de otros artículos y luego cuando voy me doy cuenta que ya simplemente no están.
Por lo menos estos dos locales, uno me causaba muchas ganas de conocerlo porque era una tienda donde vendían plantas y suculentas, lo había visto por su Instagram y al ir encontré lo que les digo, ya no están ahí.
El otro era un bar, esta foto la tomé hace un par de meses cuando fui con mi hijo. Sentí curiosidad al momento de hablarles de esto y me metí en su Instagram. Efectivamente, como sospechaba desde Mayo no publican nada.
I visit it once a month when I have to run errands at the bank and every time I go there I find fewer and fewer shops, fewer and fewer people, fewer and fewer things to enjoy.
I follow the mall's networks and I have seen how there have been many openings of entertainment, clothing and other shops and then when I go there I realise that they are simply not there anymore.
At least these two places, one I really wanted to visit because it was a shop where they sold plants and succulents, I had seen it on their Instagram and when I went there I found what I said, they are no longer there.
The other one was a bar, I took this picture a couple of months ago when I went there with my son. I was curious when I told them about this and I went on their Instagram. Sure enough, as I suspected, they haven't posted anything since May.
Es bien triste a mi parecer porque aunque el centro comercial cuenta con muy buenos espacios, iluminación, aire acondicionado, la mayoría de los negocios que han pasado por ahí han fracasado.
Yo me he llevado varias sorpresas cuando voy con la idea de comprar algo en cierto local y cuando llego me doy cuenta que ya no existe, como pasó el día que estuve buscando unos zapatos con mi hijo. No habían muchas opciones de tiendas, y en las pocas que habían no contaban con suficiente variedad.
Pienso que muchos factores afectan, el principal que veo es su ubicación, ya que queda a las afueras de la ciudad más cercana, que es Cabimas, y actualmente el problema de la gasolina a afectado muchísimo el transporte, por ende las personas no están saliendo con tanta frecuencia.
También la economía es otro factor importante, la mayoría de las tiendas que hay actualmente son de ropa, tecnología y no todos cuentan con los recursos para comprar con tanta frecuencia.
Los que si veo que se mantienen en pie a pesar de las temporadas bajas son algunos de comida y de dulces. También los de entretenimiento como el cine (que es el único que hay en la COL).
It is very sad in my opinion because although the shopping centre has very good spaces, lighting, air conditioning, most of the businesses that have passed through there have failed.
I have had several surprises when I go there with the idea of buying something in a certain store and when I get there I realise that it no longer exists, as happened the day I was looking for shoes with my son. There weren't many choices of shops, and in the few that there were, there wasn't enough variety.
I think that many factors affect it, the main one I see is its location, as it is on the outskirts of the nearest city, which is Cabimas, and currently the petrol problem has affected transport a lot, so people are not going out as often.
The economy is also another important factor, most of the shops that exist nowadays are for clothes and technology, and not everyone has the resources to shop so often.
The ones that I do see staying up despite the low seasons are some of the food and candy stores. Also the entertainment ones like the cinema (which is the only one in the COL).
Según mi perspectiva el centro comercial siempre ha tratado de mantenerse a flote, sobre todo aprovechando las fechas especiales como el día de la madre, el padre o el día de los niños.
He podido estar en estas fechas y les puedo decir que no cabe un alma, pero al mismo tiempo, por la falta de locales, no da abasto para tantas personas. El centro comercial colapsa y algo tan simple como disfrutar de un helado se vuelve imposible por las largas filas.
Otra cosa que también puedo notar es que ellos tienen ambientados varios de los espacios "vacíos" con murales y decoraciones para que luzca más pintorezco todo y que las personas aprovechen su visita para tomarse fotos y conservar lindos recuerdos.
Están haciendo un gran esfuerzo, luchando contra la economía pero esta resultado una tarea casi imposible a mi parecer. De verdad espero que todo mejore, que los locales se puedan mantener y lleguen muchos más negocios que reactiven todo este lugar, y que sigamos contando por mucho más tiempo con un espacio así para ir a disfrutar con nuestras familias.
From my perspective, the shopping centre has always tried to stay afloat, especially on special dates such as Mother's Day, Father's Day or Children's Day.
I have been able to be there on these dates and I can tell you that there is no room for a single soul, but at the same time, due to the lack of shops, there is not enough space for so many people. The shopping centre collapses and something as simple as enjoying an ice cream becomes impossible due to the long queues.
Another thing I can also notice is that they have decorated several of the "empty" spaces with murals and decorations to make everything look more picturesque and people take advantage of their visit to take pictures and keep nice memories.
They are making a great effort, fighting against the economy but this is an almost impossible task in my opinion. I really hope that everything improves, that the shops can be maintained and that many more businesses arrive to reactivate this place, and that we continue to have a place like this for a long time to go and enjoy with our families.

Así también están los centros comerciales por estos lados, en constante decadencia, cada vez que voy a uno hay mas locales cerrados, es una lastima porque una de mis actividades favoritas es visitarlos y pasear un rato viendo las tiendas mientras hablo con mi novia, esperemos que dentro de poco la situación mejore y los comerciantes puedan volver a reabrir sus negocios
Uds son de Maturin cierto? Yo fui hace muchos años, tanto para la cascada como para el Monagas plaza y recuerdo que esos centros comerciales eran de los más visitados. Siempre había un montón de gente sobre todo en la cascada. Que me digas que ahora están igual en decadencia es bien triste. Pensaba que ese era un problema solo de acá y bueno traté de encontrarle la lógica por los problemas que hay en la región, pero veo que ya es algo a nivel general en Venezuela. Pienso lo mismo, yo también espero que todo mejore para que así los comerciantes se mantengan y nosotros tengamos el poder adquisitivo para poder salir a disfrutar de estos espacios.
