It's almost the end of the week and today I had the opportunity to be off work today so I planned to spend the day stocking up on my necessities. It's been a while since I went to the market because I love to buy my things in bulk so I don't keep going to the market frequently. I will say, I am not a market person, if you want to punish me send me to the market every day 😅.

In this post, I will be taking you along with me as I narrate how my day went at the market. So when I got to the market, I was greeted with a spike in high prices, and honestly with the way things are going, I can't help but wonder will the spiked high prices ever go back to the way they were before. Only our government can answer this question. Things are expensive now, everyday prices of foodstuffs increase in prices and company productions are cut down to avoid wastage. I hope and pray every day that things go back to the way they were.

So I went to buy my foodstuffs from a particular stall. The woman who owns the stall always sells at wholesale price and she is very accommodating hence why I patronize her every time I go to the market. She is always happy to see me and gives me special attention. I got there, and gave her the list of food I wanted, which were Semovita, spaghetti, noodles, rice, some different types of kinds of pasta, and some provisions like Milk, chocolate drink, Nescafé, and jars of honey.

Dry Hibiscus flowers

After that, I went in search of canned tomato paste, seasoning, and spices. I bought, packed Dried rosemary leaves, curry, thyme, cinnamon powder, chicken spices, black pepper powder, ginger, and garlic powder. Then close to the stall where I bought my seasonings and spices, I bought some dry hibiscus flowers which I used to make Zobo drink and use some for hair. Also, I went to get some vegetables like Ugwu leaves, water leaves, cucumbers, carrots, and some oranges.

Afterward, I went to get some raw eggs of which I bought two crates, and then when to buy the black-eyed beans I spent more time with the woman who sold the beans to me because I had to bargain with her since I was buying the beans in bulk. After I was done with the beans I went to get some tubers of yam which took me a while to get what I wanted. I usually prefer the yams that are pure white on the inside to the ones that change color when dipped inside water.

So from there, I went to the supermarket to buy the things I couldn't get in the community's market which were some hardware spare part for my generator, ice-cream,and wine. For my generator, I got a new carburettor which I later fixed myself when I got home. I didn't spend much time in supermarket because of the few things I bought.

After all I had done through the day I treated myself wonderful dessert. I don't have the name for it because I came up with dessert myself. The dessert is made up of whipping milk and yogurt and garnished with cashew nuts, date fruits, shredded coconut, diced bananas and some diced apples. I love this dessert combo a lot because it delicious. It's a recipe of mine if you are chanced you can try it out. Below you see the image of the yogurt I used and the finished dessert.

Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. Thank for your wonderful and encouraging feedback. I actually drove to the market, it was like a 20 mins drive. I could have taken a public transport if I didn't much things to carry. My car help me with to transport my foodstuff successfully without stress. What I noticed had changed in price where all the groceries and the yams.

I appreciate your comment and presence here. Thank you for the visit and support. Have a wonderful day ahead ❤️

Your pictures are amazing !! The price of things these days is something else. You just can't use ₦5000 to make any reasonable dish.
that's alot of money you spent there, I can relate because things are very expensive.
The dessert looks so yummy 😋
