That was how nervous I used to be checking my account balance. If you're worried about money, you're not alone.

Money is a common source of stress for adults. 72% of adults report feeling stressed about money, whether it's worrying about paying rent or feeling bogged down by debt. This is pretty significant given financial stress is linked to so many health issues.

Money matters can become problematic if it disrupts your everyday life. For instance, you might find you can't focus on or enjoy other parts of your life because your money-related stress is causing you to worry

Let me not sugarcoat the issue, you are broke if there is financial stress.

BROKE
Being broke is the financial stress. No one sets out to be broke. Bad investment, poor money-making skills, poor saving habits; are some reasons you’ll often revert to broke status.

Being broke for me is not having a reliable source of income. Being broke is living paycheck to paycheck with no savings intact. Being broke is being in debt up to your eyeballs.

I got sick and tired of being broke, I knew it was time to take control of my finances! I needed to work on my spending habits, learn how to save, and find ways to earn more money, I knew I just had to stop being broke

It's even worst when you are the broke friend amongst your peer, Being the broke friend can come in two forms: Either you’re consistently saying "no" to the point in which people get frustrated and don’t invite you out anymore. Or, you suffer in silence–pinching pennies, pulling money from here and there to "make it work." This leads to you constantly playing catch up which I was doing😒😒

I have learned to speak up because If I had simply opened up and been honest with those around me regarding said financial struggles early on, I could have found a way out much sooner.

Being broke gave me an entirely different perspective on cash flow, debt, and my financial well-being.

I learned that there was a big difference between looking like you have money and having money.

I also learned about living within my means and the real-life consequences of unplanned purchases. And most importantly, I became willing to do anything and everything to make sure that I am not broke again.

As it is now, I am very nervous to even checked my account balance. At time we tend to buy things that are not in the budget even when we know that there's not enough funds for that. I know how it feels to be broke and I don't want to taste that again 😂

My pastor once said "a man with financial wisdom would spend 10,000 when his earnings is 100,000. It's not stingyness, it's vision. Investment."

I loved reading your post.

Wise decisions! I also know that if you save first, when you are paid; whether it's $5 or $50 or any amount; putting that away does add up fairly quickly. The thing is to be consistent. Pay your bills on time and keep spending down. If you need to make a purchase, saving for it and paying in cash alleviates the debt issue of the purchase. Take care and have a lovely night!
