First keke ride

I have had countless Keke rides can't even remember my first time taking a Keke ride/tricycle but this ride was mostly about my 9-month-old Leroy...his first keke ride.

I decided to surprise my mother-in-law with a visit today, her home is quite a distance from my place and she is always the one driving all the way to come and see us almost every weekend.

I couldn't shake off the feeling that I needed to visit her with Leroy this time and spend the Saturday with her. I used the bolt app to check for her address and I saw about 5k+ for just a ride.

The price is quite understandable because we both live outskirts of Lagos, imagine going from one end to another but my conscience would never allow me to pay that much when I could get an alternative means.

When I was still a spinster, I had this Keke guy who ran errands for me, I had to fetch out his number and gave him a call so we discussed and he agreed to meet me halfway through my journey.

I took the Uber to a point where I was to meet the Keke rider and it cost just 1,500 to get there and paid 1000 for the ride to her house. Which sums up to more than half the prices for the bolt ride.

Am I a good money manager or what?😁

It was during the ride that it dawned on me that this is my son's first-ever Keke ride, no wonder he was shouting and acting all excited. From seeing cars go past him, looking at the ground while the ride moved, jumping at the road bumps, and taking in the morning sun. He really enjoyed his ride

He was so excited, the rider could tell. We got to a point where we saw lots of people gathered, my son brought my attention to them with his stretching and scream and I realized they were JAMB(Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board)candidates waiting to write their exams today.

Seeing them brought back so many memories, I wrote JAMB twice and it wasn't even funny both times. Funny how they now use CBT (computer-based testing) and get their result immediately.

there was nothing like that in our days, I shaded my answers with a pencil and waited for weeks to get my result. I knew then that passing JAMB was by the grace of God because whoever was marking then would easily choose to Give whatever score that comes to mind. Crazy times.

Anyways, we arrived at grandma's place safely, she was so happy to see us. I have never been so relaxed in a while, no worries about Leroy and what he is up to because grandma got this. I had a long siesta after a nice pot of hot Jollof rice and chicken...I got up and I can already perceive the aroma of the Banga soup from her kitchen.

I am obviously not going home today, good thing I came prepared.

Anyways good luck to everyone who is writing jamb this year and have a lovely weekend.

You are oo🤩🤩, those Uber drivers don chop my hard-earned money so well and it's not always going well for me sometimes. If only keke runs on the highway in this part of our Lagos, I wouldn't be patronizing those Uber drivers all the time.

I know you over enjoyed yourself with your mom in law, the hot dishes and the relive you got from her carrying Leroy🤩, I can relate!

I like this money management idea. No need to spend too much. Whether keke or uber, you will still arrive. So it is better to check your pocket and work according to what you have.

Your baby is happy. You know that keke breeze hits differently. The breeze enters every part of your body including your sense😂
